Yea Antman was brought in a van by Falcon, Hawkeye fighting Widow, a quick glimpse of panther with his vibranium claws, Crossbones fighting Cap, no spiderman though. The Winter Soldier made 714.8K and was the 7th highest grossing movie of 2014, even though it came out very early in the year.
I think casual movie goers care about Captain America more than you think.

Phase 3 will most def. be the best out of all phases. Get a little bit of everything. Phase 1 was great in its own right building up to The Avengers. Phase 2 as a whole was pretty much disappointing. Winter Soldier was godly. It just didn't build up to anything. Seems like Phase 3 will get it back on track.
