yea as in Oli Queen from the goddamn TV show would apparently have no issue to take out 50-60 Chitauri.. as they are such the formative foe right? bitch with 2 glocks handled them apparently yet the police and Army was too scared so call in the nukes? fohwtbs

anyone else notice that Star Lord fucked Gamora?

Just for that he's more cool than Cap America, who had Black Widow

begging to get smashed, but he wanted "a friend"

I haven't seen GotG yet, but I have no problem believing it's better than the Avengers. I liked the Avengers, but let's be real, a lot of what makes it good is the fact that it was built up to from a bunch of other movies. If you take those movies away, then Avengers is just a decent run of the mill action flick. That's not a bad thing. It's just not an exceptional thing either. GotG is it's own stand alone movie. That in itself gives it a leg up on Avengers.

Wonder why they had Yondu in this pic. He was a member of the 31st century team and looked nothing like he does in the books:

Don't understand why niggas feel like they have to now shit on Avengers just because another great superhero team movie came out. It's okay to like two things.

It was STRONGLY alluded to.

This movie is like when a moderately attractive new chick with a cool personality start at your job. Everybody in her face for about a week then she just starts to blend in with everybody else.

The movie was aight. It's one of the best looking Marvel movies, had some diverse characters, with another flat villain. A unique soundtrack, and some laughs. That's cool. I like to laugh. And I ain't even mad that niggas put it above Cap2 and Avengers.....or even X-Men. The shit that bothers me is that I waited after the credits to see a fucking duck. I waited after X men and saw young Apocalypse building pyramids. da fuck Marvel?

Well to be fair, there were people on this site that didn't think the Avengers was all that and said it when it came out. I wasn't one of them, but they were here. It's not like everyone thought the Avengers was the greatest movie to ever be released.

IGN: AUDIENCES HOOKED ON A FEELING FOR GUARDIANS AT WEEKEND BOX OFFICE

BY ANTHONY COUTO

Marvel Studios' sci-fi excursion Guardians of the Galaxy ruled the weekend box office, knocking Lucy down to second place and beating out the similarly retro-infused James Brown biopic Get On Up.

Guardians exceeded box office projections (which estimated a $60 million opening) with a whopping $94 million debut. The Marvel film broke records as the biggest August opening ever, and reigns as the third-largest debut of 2014, behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier's $95 million and Transformers: Age of Extinction's $100 million openings.

Lucy holds the second place spot with $18.3 million, down from its $44 million debut the previous weekend. Despite the drop, the Scarlett Johansson-led flick has already earned back well over its $40 million budget. The Luc Besson film beat out Get On Up, which made a $14 million debut, less than half of its $30 million production cost.

Alas, poor Hercules will continue to be the stuff of legends, as the film earned a mere $10.7 million -- which brings its total revenue to $70.3 million, well under the $100 million budget. Brett Ratner, you did it again!

Here are the weekend's box office estimates, courtesy of Rentrak:

1. Guardians of the Galaxy $94 million

2. Lucy $18.3 million

3. Get On Up $14 million

4. Hercules $10.7 million

5. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes $8.7 million

6. Planes: Fire & Rescue $6.4 million

7. Purge: The Anarchy $5.6 million

8. Sex Tape $3.6 million

9. And So It Goes $3.3 million

10. A Most Wanted Man $3.3 million

Glad this was a financial success as well, hopefully we get more weird Marvel movies like this
