Jay Z Has Successfully Acquired Swedish Streaming Company, "Aspiro"

Jay Z's bid for music streaming company, Aspiro, has been accepted.

Streaming seems to be the future of music distribution, and those looking to make a penny are investing now. Never one to miss an opportunity to get a head start in the business side of music, Jay Z made a $56 million bid for Swedish streaming company, Aspiro, which owns WiMP and Tidal, two systems that specialize in "high fidelity" streaming.

While early reports claimed that Hov may be blocked from purchasing the company, it's now been confirmed that his bid was accepted.

As far as what Jay will do with it, we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully he has plans to lower the price, which currently stands at $19.99/month USD, a good double the price of Spotify. If Neil Young's PONO is any indication, people are not willing to shell out money for lossless music at this time.

With Beats Music set to be pre-installed on all Apple devices, Jay will also be going head to head with Dre's Beats service. The streaming wars should be interesting.

Story

Jay Z may have been stifled by the minority shareholders of Aspiro when he put in his massive $56,ooo,ooo bid last week, but it appears now board could hold Hov down. Today it was announced that Jay’s 8-figure bid — submitted through his own Project Panther Bidco company — was accepted by the shareholders (called it) who command only 10 percent of the company. While Aspiro has been getting most of the shine in matter, it’s really the company’s lossless streaming platform Tidal that everyone’s been after, as it offers a quality 4x greater than what comparable platforms provide (Spotify, Beats, Apple’s forthcoming streaming endeavor) allowing consumers to stream hi-fidelity audio wherever they’re at, whenever they want it. Hov is expected to make the official announcement of the acquisition any day now, so be on the look out for that.

Smart move for Jay, but how is this company get a valuation of $56 million?

What's interesting is that Hov can have all of his artists, including himself music on the platrom exclusively. Therefore drives the traffic up which equals more revenue.

So Hov can do that overseas and still have his music streamed on the American platforms like Spotify, Apple, Google play, etc or he can really freak it and make an American version of this company and kill it.

@Sion Weigh in on this my man.

Source is very unreliable...but joint Jay/Bey visual album dropping Sunday?

When Jay Z and a group of investors, including NY Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, bought the new music streaming service TIDAL for $56 MILLION last week, everyone in the MUSIC INDUSTRY TOOK NOTICE.

Well the deal is potentially BIGGER anyone could have imagined. According to MediaTakeOut.com's TOP snitch, Beyonce and Jay Z plan on releasing a JOINT "VISUAL" ALBUM on Sunday morning. Then, they plan on launching RIHANNA's new visual album the following week.

We spoke to a person in Jay's camp who broke it down. The insider explained, "Beyonce's last album got a million [unit] sales, if we can get a million subscriptions to TIDALL, the company would be work BILLIONS." We're told that Jay and Bey's equity ownership interest would be valued at $4 BILLION.

We can't WAIT to see the Jay and Bey JOINT VISUAL album. And we're gonna pay the $19.99 for the new TIDALL SERVICE to get it. Y'all already know that we SUPPORT THE CARTERS!!!

Damn a group jay bey and melo couldnt come up with 56 mil tho

Why would they?

There is probably is some of their $ in the deal. Remember interest is deductible but as @sion warns too much debt can lead to the need to recapitalize
