niggas make a million excuses for Drake. Drake can respond and kill Joe and @Sion saying he'd lose "credibility" and career? Brutha no. Drake can win, lose or draw and Drake will still be as big as he already is probably with room to grow. If he doesn't respond, its because, like i said, he knows Joe will eat his food on wax.

i don't believe this is a ploy for attention from Joe, but like I said, even if it is, whats the criteria that makes Drake not obligated to at least send a sub at Joe's way? Can someone tell me that?

I can't believe how pussy a lot of y'all sound. Diss Drake because he's popular and you not, you're hating or envious or they not on Drake level sales-wise or money-wise. Diss Drake because you feel you're a better rapper then you're wrong, just make better music. Diss Drake because the nigga didn't write some of his shit, then its "who hasn't done it", nothing wrong with it.

It also makes me feel weird as fuck to say, but gee has a point with the whole flex reference to rakim and hammer. Same time, Drake is smart and i think witty enough to address Joe and come out seemingly unfazed, make some fly shit and sell a bunch of records off it.

You know what the thing is ? Niggas just don't like Drake PERIOD. That's the root of the thread and so the frustration is that ppl want him to lose against Joe. Given his position in rap right now he's not obligated to respond to Joe simply because of where he is and no one is gonna hold that against him because it's Joe Buddens and he's notorious for this shit. Kinda like when Wayne went at Jay-z niggas said Hov was too big to respond or Jay-E when he dissed Kendrick. It's always been like that.

I'm not against battling and would love to see blood on wax but you and I KNOW Drake isn't going to give just anyone the time of day because he wants monetary gain "being humble doesn't work as well as being aware" he puts himself first that's why he has a whole label writing for him named after his likeness. That's why I said come with a plan so you can guarantee a response and WIN. Meek dropped fuckin reference tapes which was unheard of and could have ended Drake's career, a response was necessary.

A subliminal is the safe way to battle and can be about anyone without engaging them directly and ensuring they don't get no hype from the beef (which is why they often come much later).

Niggas saying "this is Hip-Hop we the same" only when it serves their narratives but in the same breath, Joe won't respond to Hollow Da Don. Why do you think this is ?? These are the games they play, they don't give af they playing to win.

1. Can you give me some type of metrics to base this off of OG? Because There aint been a mountain in rap too high for a nigga to respond to a diss. Think UTFO vs Shante, Juice Crew vs very little known BDP, Biggie to Jeru..... I could go on.

2. Wayne said that, but Jay wasn't givin that nigga a whole song, gave em a slew of lines tho. So Jay responded to that.

3. I agree with you here, but Drake is only been known to take on 'battles', for lack of better words, that he knows are easy wins. Like the Common thing, he respected him, but knew the underlying issue was one he could easily win with, hence his response. He responded to Meek because he was an easy kill...point blank that nigga Meek can't really rap. Drake knew that and hit that dude with two diss records and was like 'where you at? its been a whole two minutes'. He aint responded to Push at all tho...Kendrick, not even a peep. He prolly won't respond to Joe either.

4. Subliminal disses are the safe way if the rhetoric is, "I won't give them fame off my name", then sure. But otherwise, people generally know when a sub is directed at them...i.e., "Check your videos, you'll always be number two". And as far as the Hollow thing, them niggas did a whole live battle....what else is there to say, Joe gotta eat that L for the rest of his life unless he can come back....which i doubt. At this point, its Hollow blatantly seeking attention.

I like the idea of Drake.....i think what he does is second to none. But certain shit I can't respect as a fan of music.

3. The stakes are so high I can't get mad when artists go after easy wins - especially if I'm not paying for music. Jay-Z was notorious for that too after the NaS beef. This is why I think when business and hip-hop merged and corporate came into it, a lot of the old values of the culture died. Now MCs aren't going to take chances b/c their careers may be on the line. I wouldn't say Meek was an easy kill tho, you can say that NOW in hindsight but at that time Meek was known for battle rapping before he even became a real rapper, there's no way we could have known Drake would have won that shit and turned the internet against Meek when all the odds were stacked against him.

Drake had every reason to reply to Meek for releasing reference tapes and exposing him. That's very different than Kendrick at the BET awards sending you a subliminal, Pusha T or anybody else. Meek was saying "your whole career is phoney and you don't pen your shit oh and here's the proof - not just one but 6 reference tapes for your last album". Kinda like 50 Cent having Ja's chain in Wanksta, that's what set Ja off. That's a great example of goading someone to respond to you if that's what you want.

4. The reason I brought up Hollow is because it contradicts yall's argument saying, that just cuz it's "hip-hop" he should have to defend against whoever steps to him. Then why isn't Joe Buddens held to that standard too if Hollow is dissing him ? Why isn't Joe going at Hollow when Hollow ate him on live TV when he has every reason to redeem himself ? If you say Joe shouldn't then this not even about battling it's about niggas just not liking Drake and being hypnotised by hate. Aint no cure for that than for them to see dude take an L.

I hear what you saying, but I know that everyone in that list of people you ran down responded to the aggressors minus Master P to 50 and J Cole to Jay E. K Dot sent a shot at Jay E on the untitled album, Hov gave Fat Joe a line or two on the S. Carter mixtape, that tennis song....Last Real Nigga Alive was one of the many songs Nas referenced that Cam and Dipset shit, lightly but still a response, etc. My thing is, why does a time in history change what a rapper should do against another rapper. This isn't a hip hop thing, I would like to think Drake nor Joe Budden really subscribe to those views. So I'm not asking Drake responds for the sake of hip hop or the culture or none of that, because he's not that.

The Hov/Wayne thing...I mean, come on dog, the nigga referred to the boy lines directly, then gave a stupid answer to a stupid question. That was an obvious response, on that Magna Carta shit.

The Meek shit...I knew before Meek even signed to MMG that nigga couldn't really rap. Just because he used to battle rap don't mean he can battle on wax. If anything Meek was at the height of his career and it was a chance for Drake to capitalize because he knew Meek couldnt out-rap him or out-joke him or whatever. Albeit, what Meek did was the catalyst for a response, an underlying tone that people tend to ignore is that Meek can't really rap....and niggas know that.

As far as Hollow and Buddens....Joe is just not gonna win that one. Its kinda like the kid that already beat you up wanting to fight again to let you redeem yourself. No point if you know you can't win. And this is the case. End of the day, he already beat you, but i think you overlook the fact that they actually fought. Whereas Drizzy is picking and choosing. Wise? I'd say so. Weak? I'd also say yes.

Is it just me, or does anyone else go back and listen to albums because of the Drink Champs podcast? Got to listen to GRODT when this podcast is over.
 
This is going to be a goat interview. 50 is the realist ever at interviews and nore is the goat interviewer/ podcast eat ever. I hate EFN he is a cornball he's only known for having a video chick groupie. I hope his mic is muted
 
Yo just finished listening to the Drink Champs/50 episode, bit annoying the way it finished, but it was dope as usual... I can imagine NORE's friends in Ja and Benzino listening thinking PLEASE dont pop schitt and waiting to blow up NORE's phone...

I think 50 be dropping gems at times but NORE just stops him midway and stays some schitt like wait, hold up, 50, are you petty??? I was in the car like please STUP UP FFS and let dude finish what he is staying haha

Drink Champs is on smash though and I think NORE always comes across as a cool dude...
