I just feel like my barrel gets hot on my .270 and shit starts getting funky really fast. and I don't really plan on needing to shoot over 300 on this side of the Missouri River so I just do the whole maximum point blank range thing to zero my gun.

went to the range last nite on a whim for 100 shots.

i shot alright considering that the target holder was fucked up and caused the target to tilt/lean to the right. i'll post pics of those targets when i can.

you know... i'm trying to think when i last zeroed an honest-to-god hunting rifle (or something in that vein)

but i think like 30-60 seconds at least, including possibly chatting with a spotter, seems like a decent guess?

Omw to the range now.
range report expected

It was an exciting day at the fuckin range. Started getting nervous as I loaded my mags since it was the first time shooting in 6 months. But once I took a look thru those night sights, it was like riding a fuckin bike.

The flat faced trigger makes the p320 trigger like 30x times better. It's already dope, crisp and predictable as fuck, but the flatness of it makes it so your finger doesn't slide on the trigger reset.

Here's my target. Shot from about 10 feet away, one handed.

gon have to work some more on ur fundamentals bruh

those are some wide groupings for a distance of 10 ft (a lil over 3yds)

a SIG should be shooting way tighter than that, even for 1 handed shots

How much difference is there in a 16", 18", and 20" barrels on an AR? I'm kinda thinking I should just get a longer barrel and put a scope on it. It just doesn't make sense for me to have red dot and short barrel for what I'm gonna be mostly using my AR for, but what I'm doing exactly what I wanted to avoid by buying a cheapie AR and then upgrading parts. I really regret not doing more research and saving up for something a little nicer.

well, you can always just get another upper and be able to switch quickly if you want to go back and forth.

if you go up from 16" (or 14.5" with a pinned muzzle device, i guess) because you want accuracy/distance, go to 20" and go HBAR. ironically, in this state, HBARs are mandatory, so hey.

Yah after reading around most people seem to agree that if you're 16", might as well go up to 20". But I think I'm just gonna stick with the 16", most of my shooting will be 300 yards or less.

Any good suggestions on a variable low power scope that doesn't have ballistic turrets? I ain't tryna spend more than $450 on just the scope cause I know I'm probably gonna spend another $150 on rings. Some of the prices of some of these scopes boggle my mind.

yeah, if you want max range out of an AR in 5.56, 20" HBARs are the way to go. ironically, their use as match rifle is why we have permission to still buy them in MD today.

ehhh i don't have great suggestions on optics. have a couple red dots (okay, i have SOME opinions on that) but literally the only scope i own came on a rifle when i bought it used.

Thinking about either getting another p320 but in compact or getting a glock 26. I've been trying to hold out for the p320RX in compact but they taking too long...

How's that for better grouping?

I'm getting back to where I was a year ago.

not worth it to just keep the chassis and get parts to swap the P320's config?

Oh it's very worth it. I figured out what I'm gonna do.

I've got a grip module for the compact version on its way to me. I'm gonna have the front of it cut to fit the subcompact slide. Then I'm going to buy another subcompact slide for 220 & have it milled for Sig's Romeo1 red dot. This way, I'll be able to switch between a custom p320 compact rx & a p320 subcompact using one fire control unit.

yeah, see i know that concept's much more appealing for people under weird licensing regimes like NJ or in Europe. but i'm also the kind of person who sees people buying multiple versions of a gun they like and says "wait, don't you own that already?" so if you were like "fuck it, i dig having 2 different P320s ready to go," i'd have to chalk it up to just not being my style.

anyway, sounds like a plan

I'd buy 2 p320s or 2 of the same gun because of magazine compatibility. Them shits is expensive..atleast sig mags are.

if you want to feel better, shop for P7 magazines sometime

So my exctractor in my AR doesn't seem to wanna grab the brass when I unload my gun at the end of a hunt. A few times I'll have to bolt slam down on it before it catches and pulls cartridge from the chamber.

Any quick fix reccomndations? I'm assuming the fact it's like 10 degrees might have something to do with it. Shit is lame as hell tho.

Shit why the hell are those so expensive?

Sidenote, I went to the range today and shot 200 rounds.

Here's the best of....from 10 ft away.

P7s are the best handguns of all time. also, they (and their magazines) are possibly made from the purest unobtainium ever mined
