off the top though, on Swimming Pools in the chorus.. i guess that one definitely seems distorted but i heard Kendrick has a ridiculous vocal range.

About the album. I was listenin to it again, and I don't know if it's just me, but I think the story of the album takes place circa 04-05 with these few clues.

1st clue: They keep referencing Young Jeezy, who was real hot in EVERY HOOD IN AMERICA in '05.

2nd clue: I forgot what song it was, but I remembered him Sayin something about listening Usher's song "Burn", which was a huge hit around that time period.

3rd Clue: In M.A.A.D. City, he says how he worked as a security guard and he had got fired after a month on the job. If you listen to P&P from the Kendrick Lamar EP, he says

"used to have a nine-to-five, fresh out of school, that was '05

That bitch was racist, got me fired, ever since then, I had no job

Pushing in my mama van, stop for gas on Rosecrans

Trust me, these niggas rushed me for something my cousin probably did".

Notice the "Pushin my Mama's van" part and that's should be a dead giveaway rite there. That's how the story began with him takin his moms whip.

It would make more sense that it took place in 04-05 if you think about it, cuz Kendrick was born in 1987, and around that time he was still 17 goin on 18 yrs old, which puts the GOOD KID part of the title in context. He can't be a 25 yrs old (his current age) and still sayin that he's a good kid. This album could probably even be him talkin about his years as a teenager.

He also states that he's 17 on the album. Good notes though. I picked up on Burn and Jeezy, good shout on the security guard bit though.

lmao at ignorant, ignorance is part of hip hop, music, and life. not everything needs to have a thesis, evidence, and closing argument. if someone saying bitch a couple times over some 808s annoys you then..........

Yeah, lol. That's why I've been falling out of love with mainstream hip hop for quite some time. The concept is dope though, so it gets the pass. Seriously, I outgrown the immature rap a long time ago, that's why I listen to underground stuff that's for a more mature audience. Lamar was a part of that scope 3 years ago, and that's when I started following him. I was anxious for his career when he moved to Aftermath, but I give Dre huge applause for what he's done with Kendrick. I was wrong to doubt him.

Like at the end of "Bitch don't kill my vibe". It sounds like Kendrick and a girl singing the outro. I suspect its all voice distortion though.

He has a quite a few tracks with that Anna chick & JMSN (not sure whether that's a dude or female tbh), so as far as tha high pitched voices, I doubt those are made thru voice distortion. It may be (studio editing) in some places, it may be female in others.

Lol I didn't even hear him say he was 17 on the album, but im sure he did. I was just usin my analytical skills to kill some time lol.

It's weird how I like all jay rock's feature but don't really fuck with his solo music at all. I think I like his shit more when he calms down like he did on "money trees"

JMSN is a white R*B singer (in the same vein as Frank Ocean etc)

Swimming POols has the chopped and screwed "Drank"

they used back up singers and vocal manipulations

@RuffDraft i respect that, but "ignorance" isn't only in the mainstream

Ok so JMSN is similar to Anna (she's white as well). She has a nice lil voice. I can't help but laugh at tha fact that she's singin about "bucket head hoes" on Money Trees tho.
