I listened to it a little bit but I really don't get what the appeal is. Can someone explain it to me?

you shouln't have to be convinced to like some shit bruh ...if you aint feeling it ..it may just not be your cup of tea

I'm not looking to be convinced, I'm simply curious to know why people are feeling him. It shouldn't be a tough question since so many people here seem to be fans.

whats the desire?

Curious to see what I'm missing.

I just think his flow and delivery is ill and his concepts are dope too. Far as an emcee goes, Kendrick only has two flaws. May be the greatest when it is all over.

Those two flaws would be? Just asking...

4.5/5 only because it could've used like 1 or 2 more cuts imo. Didn't cop it yet but I will on Friday. I gotta support the future of this rap shit. mAAd City is the best track for me but the sequencing and everything is perfect. Kedrick dropped a masterpiece. I hope he makes everybody step they game up. oh and hit boy is a fucking problem behind the boards that beat bangs.

time out...does this nigga got maya angelou saving niggas on this album? yo, where does this nigga kendrick come from? dam i slept on him smh

Yo that 12 minute song is my least favorite track. I'm not really a fan of "I'm Dying of Thirst" only that half is problematic. I love the "Sing For Me" half.

I do love that he put all the skits at or near the end so you can enjoy the music! Wu-Tang niggas need to learn to do that. 2 minute intros aren't the business.

"Every time I write these words they become a taboo,

Making sure my punctuation curve every letter is true,

living my life in the margin and that metaphor was proof"

Heat.

Nothing ... I Mean If You Listen And It Dosen't Resonate With Your Taste Your Really Not Missing Much ..

This album is outstanding right now. Definitely has replay value to me already and that's something cold couldn't do on his debut not to take anything from him (cole)

Punch: “That song feels like the credits rolling to a movie. Originally, it was supposed to be Jazmine Sullivan on the hook. We felt for that type of record, we needed a presence like Mary J. Blige. Records sounds so big and Mary is the queen of hip-hop soul. Who is bigger than her based off how we grew up and what we’ve been through? It just made sense.”

y'all think the Mary song would have been better with Jazmine Sullivan?

Damn so it was originally supposed to be Jazmine? I was gonna say earlier that he should of got her on that one. I think it would of been a lot better. The song with MJB aint THAT bad. I just started skippin it today and i've listened to the album several times.
