For the record i've heard Jay-z list his top 5 numerous times and it generally goes like this

Big

Pac

Lauryn Hill

Nas

Andre 3000

Then he throws in other rappers like Scarface, Rakim, KRS,etc and say it's too hard to narrow it down to 5. Don't sit here and act like Em is consistently in his top 5

he usually puts Beans & Cube in there. Then adds Eminem near the end

Slim Shady LP - bitch please, only decent songs are the Dr. Dre produced ones. He lucky he got 4 mics for it.

MMLP - not with corny ass KIM, Real Slim Shady, and the second half of the album tails off.

Eminem Show- not with wack shit like My Dads gone crazy, drips, and without me.

All those albums are 4 mic at best, they aren't on the level of Nas, Jay, Pacs albums like (It was written, God Son, American Gangster, Vol 1, Makevelli 7 Day Theory) which are their second tier albums.

Not according to general conseus from the public worldwide, critical acclaim, reviews and thoughts of peers

Your stupid opinion is irrelevant

You the consensus bureau now?

By your logic To the extreme, Nellyville, Country Grammer, Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em,etc are classics too because they sold millions and general consensus is if you sold millions then people like it. Who cares what the gate keepers and people who live and love hiphop thinks, it's what middle white America thinks.

By your logic Hard Knock Life Vol 2 is a classic then, it sold a lot and received 4 mics (the same rating as Em's highest rating). I don't think you will find one hiphop head or Jay-z fan who will say that album is a classic.

You seem to not understand that what is a classic Album is simply an opinion based on each invidual and subjective

Aside from salles those Eminem Albums were highly rated by publications and miss the point that even none Eminem fans feel they are classic

Name a Song Dr Dre Prpoduced on The Slim Shady LP?

That's an interesting argument and might be valid. Only question is "What came first the chicken or the egg?"

When you say hit singles like Lose Yourself, Superman, Not Afraid, When I'm Gone etc, (Eminem can't really sing by the way, maybe harmonize?) Charisma, or female appeal; does he attain those things because he is white or because of some inherent skill? Or maybe both? I don't know. But it makes you think.

For example, if any of those rappers made the same exact song in the same way, like those three songs you mentioned, would they have been as successful or more? Probably not.

Those Rappers are nothing like Eminem as far Substance/Content, being Introperspective and Personal and over all style

They do not have the Emotion Em does

They don't have the story and pain Eminem has like growing up in a broken home, growing up with no father, growing up with a mother on welfare, growing up with a a mother that was a drug addict, working minimum wage to provide for a daughter, growing up homeless

They can not craft Hit Singles like Lose Yourself, Superman, Not Afraid, When I'm Gone etc

They do not Craft catchy Hooks nor do they Sing

They do not have the looks he does to appeal to females nor do they have his charisma

They are completley the opposite of Eminem

Forget the conflict, things have changed. Im pretty sure Eminem embraced himself being white anyways i mean he said so himself he wouldn't even have been where he is today without the race card being pulled out on him.

I had to respond to this one when I had more time. All the things that was said below: Keep it real. All races go through that, including white people. Matter of fact plenty of black people and probably most black people actually go through the positive opposite of the negative things said below. There are problems in every community of culture, since none are perfect. But let's not forget how much the media downplays positive truths and hypes negative instances for the sake of entertainment and fear to keep your eyes glued on them so they can sell more advertising.

Google "Agenda-setting in media" This is a known and researched fact.

Real talk.

The IC is the only place whrere black posters think no blacks on the planet go through issues like

Poverty/growing up in the hood/growing up on welfare

Living in Section 8/Public Housing

Parenting/loving and providing for ya child

Relationship/marriage problems/baby mother drama

Growing up with out a father

Growing up in a broken home

Working a minimum wage job to provide for ya child

Trouble with the law for gun possesion/pistol whipping/assault

Growing up with a family member that was a drug addict

Over coming drug addiction and getting clean

Political views againist the system/goverment

But hey i guess ignorance never fails when it comes to haters lol

Hey man. It looks like you haven't read through all the posts. I don't think anyone once said Eminem didn't have skills. I don't even think anyone could make that argument and win.

What we're talking about is facts and probabilities. If Eminem was black skills and all, he'd probably sell less than half. If you got an argument for otherwise, then say so. But don't throw out that jealousy racist stuff. Eminem is liked by different races (including myself), just like Jay-Z is. But let's not be oblivious to socialization at work in terms of Eminem's momentous success in addition to his skills.

Real talk.
