IMO dude is a dope artist, but I feel he doesn't want to take his career to tha next level critically speaking he doesn't have that Blueprint or College Dropout album in his arsenal even though he comes real close with Tha Carter II I think he's a GOAT as an overall MC since he has a dope flow, wordplay, longevity, mainstream impact and is a solid lyricist, but he's not real high on my list I consider him top 50 DOA no less than that real talk

when he goes back to how he was in 07 and stays with that flow than i will. How can we respect a lame attempt at being a "rock star" how can we respect theese soft ass songs with no storyline no type of grind and limited rhyming...how can respect a dude whos more worried about getting a pop audience than making pure hip hop at its core?

When jordan won his first title he didn't get lazy and be satisfied with 1 title he went for more. But wayne had the crown in 07 then got lazy and complacant and didnt keep trina win more titles pretty much. Lil wayne shows allot of inconsistency to be respected.

carter 2 was dope but it was a status quo album. Gangsta rap was in and wayne did it really well. But College dropout was a game changer. Nobody was top 5 sales not doing gangsta rap and ye defied that and spit without gunplay and got top sales. Wayne waited till 09 to even explore rapping like college dropout but ye had the balls to set the non hardcore gangsta album. College dropout is better short term and long term hip hop wise. Even if you take the fact it sold more than C2 it still had a larger impact than C2.
