1. THE COMPROMISE- Wayne is a punchline rapper now. We need to stop talking about how wack he is and just accept this is his style. Niggaz (including me) spend too much time trying to dissect his lyrics and stuff like that when we should just enjoy the flow/beats. C4 had some legitimate bangers on it, shit like "Blunt Blowin" and "President Carter" are gonna be on my playlist for a long time. We need to judge Wayne by his own criteria and not by the criteria of legends. Lines like "I get money to kill time, dead clocks" are NEVER gonna be acceptable. But we need to just enjoy the music

2. THE REALITY- Wayne has ZERO claims to be a legend apart from popularity. His catalogue is mediocre, and thats being generous. C2 is only a classic when you consider some of the trash he released before and after. To call Wayne a legend is to insult the gravitas that has been attached to the term. If we can't judge him by the criteria by which we judge all other legends (skill, quality of music) then he doesn't deserve to be called a legend.

The thing is though, his punchlines are really subpar to average. It was impressive when I was a junior in high school in 05 and I aint know no better but I've since heard niggas who punch way harder. By way of grindtime/smack battlers, datpiff mixtapes, youtube rappers with stupid skill, and a plethora of underground niggas I've realized how garbage he is. I don't have to accept that shit, fuck you mean nigga?
