The Official Drake vs. Common Thread

Blackrain came in this thread with his tampons in hand fabricating the truth.

Common said he liked his music, but he also said that if Drake felt the diss was about him then it was about him.

Yesterday Drake went on stage talking shit about, how if niggas got a problem with him the should say it to his face.

Thats when Commmon today said yes the diss is about Drake, why cause Drake had made the diss to be about him.

I listened to "Sweet" a hundred times and it doesn't even sound like a diss. It sounds like the millions of tracks that millions of rappers have dissing hypothetical rappers. I feel like Bob Marley, "Who Da Cap fit, let them wear it".

No different from D.O.A by Pain or Hip Hop Is Dead by Nas.

I have Common's "like water for chocolate"

And drakes " So Far gone"

To me they're both from two slightly different era's

Common's tracks which stood out to me are: Funky for you and Nag Champa

Drake's are : Successful and Fear

Though both do sing and rap, I'll have to go with Common, having a more harder edge. Maybe it is the time frame, I dunno

Notice Common,dont address Drake as a rapper,but a Artist.
Every interview he does about this,he refer to him as a ARTIST,thats a diss in it's self

As much as I like Common's music, I think he takes a lightweight L for even engaging in this. He has absolutely nothing to gain, but "expressing his feelings about it".

I don't even like Drakes music but the game has evolved into what it is now. As much as I think the majority of Drakes current music is yawn invoking bullshit, Jay-Z latest, along with Big Sean and all the other radio friendly music, whether I love it or hate it, this is where "hip hop" is at now. All respect due, Drakes mixtapes were dope tho.

So really Common can come with his ideals put into dope lyrics and put out a good album if he wants, but at this point it will be a novelty album amongst "what is hip hop now".

I'm not interested in hearing them battle on wax. I don't wanna hear what they gon say they gonna do knowing good and damn well neither one of them are gonna do shit. They ain't Cali types so ain't no real actions gon be behind them words. Just a bunch of physical threat wolf tickets backed by "let's just keep it on wax, this hip hop".

Drake and his camp should just act like they on top of the game, take the high road, and brush Common off as a hater (I agree with Common, btw). Common should have just stuck to the script, kept his respect, and just keep making dope music that he does.

This shit remind me of KRS vs Nelly.

When you think of classic hip hop beef:

Mc Shan vs Krs 1

Nas vs Jay

EPMD vs Rakim

2pac vs Biggie

Common vs Westside Connection

50 vs Ja

They all started for a legitimate reason.

The irony of you mentioning that, go do your research.

Common is still dropping great music, the most recent album being a contender for AOTY.

There was a legit reason behind the beef, go do YOUR research

The legit reason was that Mc Shan was implying that Hip hop started in QB, even though he didn't actually come out and say it?

Billy Bob, thats is the timeline of how it happened.

And who gives a damn anyway, this is rap, beefs are often started over 'mere speculation'.

I watched the concert while it was streaming, cuh...On the 16th...And he was sayin shit like that all night...If Common can repeatedly say "This comment is meant for whoever gets offended by it"...Seein as how it's plenty rappers singin right now...Why can't the Drake comment be about alll the niggas who try to play him for a bitch because he sings...Because there's plenty of them that do...I.E. Beanie Sigel, Pusha T, twitter haters, the whole I.C., etc...

lol @ how drake talking in that clip, boy better respond now

I actually enjoy some of Drake music But he ain't no Afrikan-American, he a half-peckawood Mullato-Jew boy from Canada that rap-sings for the bitches.

Common is my brother by Blood and geography, a conscious brother who ain't never scared and done smashed Serena and Badu, and ain't never flirted with a cave-mutt like Kreayshawn.

So Common can shit on the half-breed, hybrid Canadian bitch-boy and I would give less than a fuck because Common makes music for me and my folks and NEVER teenage cave-bitches with pink faces, freckles, and blonde hair.

I hope Common crushes that fuck-boy and every white-washed faggitt that Drake done hypnotized.
