the reason they don't get it, its cuz these fuken lames, forgot bout the moment/phase/time that the nigga was really that nigga...since they prolly weren't even tuned in when X was poppin, becuz they just not from that time, they just really don't get it, it aint all bout statistics or specifics, since they werent tuned in like that, now when niggaz talk bout X they have to go back and judge from some technical perspective and on some backpacker shyt basically, but all that is bs in this case, becuz in this case its the context that counts...

I've said this...Tommy isn't that old. He's most likely a high school kid.

I was 11 in 98, 12 in 99, 14 in 2001, 15 in 2002.

Not that old right?

But even I remember DMX being EVERYWHERE. "What These Bitches Want" playing out of every car stereo in Philly. DMX starring in multiple movies/films. Videos all over TRL, Cita's World, Rap City, The Basement, The Box and 106th and Park. White people actually knowing who the nigga was. The Hard Knock Life Tour.

Dude can't possibly be over 20 if he can't remember because DMX was "that nigga" back then.

first and second albums stayed in rotation for me... i'm sure he's up their with most arrests by a rapper... or most times incarcerated.. or most times impersonating an fbi agent...

Smile (I'm Leaving) on that G-Unit mixtape from a few years ago? or Smile the Lloyd Banks song with 50 on the hook?

I'm talking about the bonus track from Curtis that was produced by Kanye.

DMX is a fucking legend....
If you not from the hood you won't get it...
like somebody before me said, if it wasnt for X there would be no 50, few niggas from NY can be big without being lyrical...
...And Then There Was X was some of the hardest shit ever...

Remember when this shit drop. Niggas was banging this in their Ford Explorers and whips. The streets backed X. Good days when the streets dictated hip-hop.

Man I remember those days when people thoguth Ja, Jay, and DMX were going to release and album together as Murder Inc.

I think they had plans to do so, but didn't have the time b/c their solo careers were so time consuming.

Legendary days

yea X is an average at best mc. he has no classics

True, he was only an average lyricist, but he had other intangibles that he brought to the rap game.

I wasn't a big DMX fan and said the same thing about his rhyming skills, but he had a lot of substance to make up for his lack of lyrical skills.

I'd say It's Dark And Hell Is Hot is a classic because of it's impact on the game and single handedly changing the rap game from the shiny suit/Bad Boy era to the grimey/hard core scene.

Much more of an impact than 50 Cent and It's Dark.... and Flesh of My Flesh are better than any two 50 Cent cds imo.

Get Rich or Die Trying changed the rap game, but had a few wack songs to me.

50cent was a gimmick who was "manufactured" like the Terminator

if 50 never had a co sign from Eminem and Dr Dre he would not be shit, or sold even 5% of what he sold

Eminem gave his fanbase to 50, and with the help of Dr Dre they created the biggest gimmick rapper since Vanilla Ice

50 had a few hit songs, and a great debut, but thats where the buck stops....as an artist he was never on the level of DMX

Thank You
