hip hop revisionist luv to change history

fact is dmx made a huge mark on hip hop and balanced out the bling bling era

he brought a new sound to the table and kick started a legendary producers career

RR was huge at the time, X was a much needed rapper at the time, its a shame how he ended up, but i aint gonna downplay his achievements, he was one of a kind

DMX is a fucking legend....

If you not from the hood you won't get it...

like somebody before me said, if it wasnt for X there would be no 50, few niggas from NY can be big without being lyrical...

...And Then There Was X was some of the hardest shit ever...

50cent was a gimmick who was "manufactured" like the Terminator

if 50 never had a co sign from Eminem and Dr Dre he would not be shit, or sold even 5% of what he sold

Eminem gave his fanbase to 50, and with the help of Dr Dre they created the biggest gimmick rapper since Vanilla Ice

50 had a few hit songs, and a great debut, but thats where the buck stops....as an artist he was never on the level of DMX

Dmx is only a legend to crack dealers

and u sound stupid "if youre not from the hood you wont get it"

What sense do that make? So If I question why x is overrated im not from the hood? fuck outta here wit that wack logic

Take it easy homie, but I say that to say DMX isn't big because, he was the best lyricist in the world...He was big because the niggas that will rob your ass, felt him...

Like 50, he big because the hood shit he talked about was so vivid, and offered a point of view that wasn't seen a lot...

He the one that taught me that everybody don't gotta sell coke, you can just bag the pussy ass niggas that do...

He was honest and pretty deep, I mean shit he had Prayers on his CDs that were as good as the songs...

Explain how this crackhead who is a mediocre rapper can be endeared so much?

He growled, barked and said mediocre bars and had some wack accapella prayers and dropped 2 good albums 13 years ago

Its dark and hell is hot is a classic album Crime Story and Damien are 2 of my favorite songs btw

This nigga should not be mentioned wit biggie,Jigga,ghostface,50 and Nas he aint close

On Blackout,24 hours to live and money power and respect his verses sucked compared to the lox, jigga and mase

I just wanna know why

Who mentions him wit those legends tho? everyone knows his catalogue slipped after his first 2 albums

Hustler's Ambition

Many Men

A Baltimore Love Thing

Position of Power

Smile

What Up Gangsta

^^^ Those are all songs that can be argued as on par or better than any of DMX songs. X's verse on "Money, Power, Respect" is hadly anything to write home about.

Hell no, Jada murdered that song.

Jada came correct, "i keep my rocks spotless, and my hoes topless/ take time to figure out who the LOX is/ fear no one, kick rhymes like shogun/ you scared to blow one/ get robbed with ya own gun...and ya'll said my money spent/ but it's in the Bent'/ so when the Feds come, the dogs can't get a scent"...

...but DMX had the best verse imo.

Come on now

Yo nutin’ but the hotness.

Whenever we drop this.

Monotonous for y’all to keep hatin’,

Cuz y’all never gon’ stop us.

I keep my rocks spotless,

And my hoes topless.

Take time try to figure out who da lox is.

Fear no one.

Kick rhymes like shoguns.

You scared to blow one.

Get robbed wit’ your own gun.

If I don’t respect you I’m ah check you.

And if I don’t kiss you I’m a peck you,

Right before I wet’ chu.

I sneeze on tracks an’ bless you.

I’m special.

And if you like workin’ out,

Then I’m gon’ stretch you.

Husslin’ is dead but we still get red.

Turn the spots in the bakeries to get back bread.

And y’all said my monies spent.

But it’s in the bent’.

So when the feds come the dogs can’t get a scent.

For my story, self-explanatory

That I’m the hottest thing on the street.

An’ y’all ain’t got nutin’ for me

No contest. I actually Like sheek and Styles verses better then X. He wasn't really saying anything

Since Money, Power, Respect was brought up, here's another classic with The L.O.X. and DMX.

Niggas going by the passion and emotions in DMX songs (that's the lyrical tip), not necessarily his skills in regards to word play and vocab and the such
