Archie Manning: Falcons' Matt Ryan not a 'choker'

"Peyton went through it at Tennessee because they didn't beat Florida, and (Ryan is) going through it now with his playoff record," Manning told USA Today. "But this is not Tom vs. Peyton, or Aaron vs. Matt. It isn't tennis. It isn't golf. Ninety to 95 percent of the time, it's the best team wins, not the best quarterback. You get to the point of labeling people chokers or losers, and that's not fair. It's one of the worst things in sports."

I've been saying this for a long time. Green Bay, NY, and Arizona were all better teams. Now, I don't think that my birds should have been blown out. They definately should have been much more competitive but I definately had doubts going into all three of those games.

This year against Seattle? Definately the exact opposite.

Does pop Manning mention that Manning also went 0-3 in his first playoff games?

Plus, only the Giants lawse can be put on Matt and the offense. Arizona was a shootout against a talented Super Bowl vet QB, and VanGorder didn't know what the fuck to do with Aaron Rodgers.

Looks like a lot of people are picking against us again this week. Im a little worried but not by much. I believe Nolan will dial something up and Kutty will really open that playbook this weekend. Besides RG3 had some success against that defense early in that game before he tweeked his knee and was basically playing on one leg.

It's real simple. We get at least 3.5 yards per carry, utilize our RBs and TEs in the pass game, and stay stingy on defense, we'll be aight.

And the only thing I don't like about Kutty is his reluctance to run the no-huddle. This is the perfect team to run the NH against.

Wurd!!! Havent seen that no huddle as much this year as previous years. I think we could really tire them out and jump on them it we crank that no huddle up

If Vangorder's retarded ass could find a way to hold Lynch to 25 yards last year, I'm sure Nolan can at least hold him and Wilson in check. Keep mind, while Tavaris wasn't as skilled overall as Wilson, he was just as agile and fast if not faster.

I just hope we don't play into the media hype and try to force it downfield to Roddy and Julio all day. The burden is on them to keep them in check, not on us to force shit.

He'll be somebody's GM in the next couple years too.

Interesting stat about my boi "Bobby Ro-Mack"

Slot cornerback Robert McClain has allowed 0.82 Yards per Coverage Snap when lining up in the slot, which is fourth-lowest for all cornerbacks with at least 100 slot coverage snaps.

In even better newz...

...Chris "Owned" is out hurt this week. That's always a positive. lol

I wasn't worried before but I kinda am now. As the week progressed more people picked us to win.

I'm still not really worried cause I think if we play to our ability we should win

This game is going to come down to who makes plays.

Only difference between now and the last 3 playoff games = I have no doubt that we're a better team. But that matters a damn if you don't execute.

We didn't get beat by the Packers, Giants, or Cards because they were "hot at the time". Foh. They just came out and executed. Took care of the ball and made more stops on defense. Simple as that.

One thing I luv about the Smitty/Ryan era Falcons is that they shine a light on who really knows football and who just watches sportscenter at night. That "DB's vs WR's" matchup shit, the "playoff pressure" shit, and that "who's hot at the time" shit is all bullshit for casual fans to regurgitate.

We don't play the "playoffs" on Sunday. We play the 2012 Seahawks. Period.

This "playoff" talk is funny tho cause

1.) Nobody expected us to win any of those games

2.) The teams we lost to beat at least 2 other teams during the playoffs so it's not like we lose to sorry teams

All I know is whether we win or lose on Sunday Nucky Blank and TD gonna make sure we in this same exact spot next year and niggas gonna be reppin' the Falcons the exact same way we have been

So to make a long story short I ain't got no worries.

Purrty much. Like I always say... I been a Falcon fan since 91-92. I know what REAL failure and disappointment is. The same shit you see the cowboys, Panthers, bills, eagles, titans, etc going thru right now.

So winning 10+ games every year is lovely for me regardless of the outcome.

Of course I want my squad to win the ring every year, but thinking we "worried" when most of us saw some of those 90s Falcons squads or Vick-Falcon squads that didn't even make the playoffs is like thinking a Millionaire is "worried" about losing a couple hunned thousand when he grew up in poverty. Foh.

And honestly, the parity of the NFL and football in general is why it's my favorite sport.
