Tommy D's swag is on a thousand trillion...

And I don't even use that word.

But check dude's resume...

1. Came from the Patriots dynasty. (Him and Scott Pioli both come from the Patriots so all you have to do is compare the Chiefs and the Falcons right now to see who had a bigger impact in New England.)

2. Took over a team that was in one of the worst conditions a team could be in (star player in jail, coach just quit for a college gig) Yet we haven't had a losing season since he showed up.

3. The bold personell moves.

- Two EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR trophies already (the "MVP" of GM's.)

- Hired a "no name" Head Coach (Smitty!)

- Drafted Matt Ryan

- Signed Michael Turner (made him one of the highest paid backs at the time even though he had never been a starting NFL running back.)

- Made sure we kept Brent Grimes on the roster even though he was just a NFL Europe cat at the time.

- Let our best DB at the time walk (Deangelo Hall).

- Got rid of the Falcons version of Chipper Jones (Keith Brooking)

- Traded for Tony Gonzalez when people were already calling him "washed up".

- Julio Trade. (Nuff said)

- Signed Asante for less than half of what he was asking Philly for and only traded a bucket of chicken and a pair of Nike Cortez's for him.

- After a disappointing playoff loss last year, instead of going out and trying to sign a bunch of big name free agents, he basically left the roster alone (aside from the Asante deal) and let our REAL weak links walk (both coordinators)

^^^^ Put all that together and it's safe to say he has every reason to be so cocky. He's basically the Sam Presti of the NFL.

And fortunately for me, both run my NFL and NBA squads.

Man, I hate that Grimes got injured but it's nice to know that his salary won't be an issue this offseason. If TD can use that money to sign a dominate DE, draft a starting RB and TE next season then that nigga is GOAT in my book.

Now that we got our draft picks back, I'm sure he'll focus on drafting our needs instead of free agency. We already got all the veterans we need to win. Now it's about getting talented, AND CHEAP draft picks to compliment our core talent.

I don't expect us to go out and get any new big names unless one of the ones we have now leave (like Abraham, Michael Turner, etc.)

Please believe we gon' pick up a few "Tony Gonzalez's" over the next few years.

By that I mean Pro-Bowl veterans from losing teams looking for somewhere to win.

I can't even hate on Dimitroff no more. He proved me wrong with every major move he's made. I'm tired of doubting. Dude knows his shit.

He could trade all 7 of our picks next year for a kicker and I ain't sayin shit. lol

FLOWERY BRANCH —Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens has been cleared from the league concussion protocol program and will return to practice on Wednesday, head coach Mike Smi said on Monday. Owens suffered a concussion in the Denver game on Sept. 17. He’s missed the games against San Diego and Carolina. Against San Diego, Dominique Franks took over at nickel back, but Robert McClain played the position against Carolina. “We let those guys compete over the last couple of weeks and we felt like Robert had a really good week of practice,” Smith said. “We felt like we wanted to get him an opportunity to play the nickel. I thought that he handled it for the first time fairly well.” McClain played 35 of 64 defensive snaps (55 percent) against the Panthers and finished with three tackles. Owens will have to win his spot back from McClain. “So we’ll have some competition going on at the nickel back position as we prepare for the game this week,” Smith said.

Why can't this nigga just go away??

He ain't gettin' that spot back from McClain. Mac been ballin' on the low. He got that pick in the Broncos game, but I re-watched the Panthers game and he had a sure pick 6 on Cam that was tipped by a D-lineman.

If that DL wouldn't have tipped, he would've went to the house.

Then again, Chris Owens has defied logic for what - 3 years now on our roster?? Instead of Harry Douglas being the "random nigga" in the background of D-Block, it should be Owens.

Nigga joined illuminati to become a all-pro DB, but the Devil was like "nah, I ain't that good, but I can keep you a roster spot no matter how many times you get toasted."

lol.... You hell Greenwood. Yo I still cant figure out how Chris Owens keeps that spot either. I havent rewatched that Panthers game yet but I didnt see McClain get beat like a drum and thats how Im use to see Owens play. Hopefully he holds the spot down....

I like our pass defense, but our run defense took a hit when Peters went down. Pass D got better and the run D got worse. No one could run on us last year not niggaz averaging 5 yards a carry...

And where did you find that video of Matt Ryan tellin them nigga to get off the field? Gotta find that....

Co-sign Numbaz.

And Ya Boi too. I got that Matty gif from somebody that dropped it in the NFL thread.

It's amazing that our defense is making the plays that they are without Cory Peters in the rotation. With Peria Jerry FINALLY looking like a former first round pick we'll be a problem up front when Cory comes back.

He should be back after the bye.

The part that gets me about the defense is that its basically the same players from last year. It just shows how stupid BVG really was

Yep, not to mention that we're playing without our best DB (and arguably our best defensive player) since week 1.

We were better against the run, but which team in our division is a "running" team??? None. Every team in the league right now is either balanced or pass-heavy.

Being the best "running defense" in our division is like having the best Coat store in Mexico.

Keys to the game...

1. Get the run game going as quick as possible. It might be rainy and sloppy, so it ain't smart to try to sling the bal around all day. Skins got some ball hawks.

2. Defenders need to stay in their lanes/gap assignments. That zone-read blocking can make teams look silly as fuck if your LB's and safeties are caught slipping. Just stay home and blow up your assignment.

3. Again... Tired of saying it, but Harry Douglas gotta step up. We need to get him involved. He falls asleep if he's not getting at least 1 look per quarter. If our offense EVER feeds him right, we'll be unstoppable.

4. Take care of the ball. That's any game, I know, but especially on the road in sloppy weather.

5. Tee off on AG3 on passing downs (AG3= Axel Goodburger III, aka RGIII). Like Vick, he runs wild when pressure picks up and we can easily force turnovers that way.
