Just say this.... Thought it was Interesting............

WAS CHRIS OWENS LAST SUNDAY’S SAVIOR?

When looking at Sunday’s 23-19 win over the Arizona Cardinals, you might point to the 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Turner as the saving moment of the game as it proved to be the one that lifted the Falcons.

But perhaps you might overlook Chris Owens’ efforts in securing the Falcons’ ninth win.

But it’s true: Owens is as much to credit for the Falcons’ win as anyone else on the field, because of what he was able to sniff out that hardly anyone noticed.

As the Cardinals lined up to kick a field goal that would break a 16-16 tie at the start of the fourth quarter, Owens noticed something not quite right off to the Arizona sideline. The Cardinals had lined up for a fake field goal.

“We practiced it and we knew it was coming all week in practice, so it was just preparation,” Owens said. “It looked like they were having Fitz (Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald) talk to (someone on the sideline) and play it off like it wasn’t a play, and it happened to be a fake.”

Owens noticed it and immediately dropped back into coverage. The Cardinals had to bail on the idea. Had it been successful, the Cards could have taken a 23-16 lead into the start of the fourth quarter.

“They were trying the old sleeper play that San Francisco ran on St. Louis, the Chicago Bears ran on Monday night years ago, where people are in the transition of the skilled personnel leaving the field and the field goal personnel coming on and somebody just slides off to the side,” special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong said. “We talk about it every day and he saw it any picked it up.

“I teach them to check the sideline every time, especially when you’re to their sideline. … Check their sideline and you should be OK. He saw it and they had to take a delay of game and backed it up.”

Man, FUUUUUUUUUUCK chris owens. Real ish. And that will never change unless he gets a game-winning pick-6 in the super bowl.

I just rewatched the game on NFL Replay and he had a go-ahead pick six, and this lil faggot tripped over himself, fell to his knees -- and then gator armed the pass (it was a quick screen pass to the right that was caught for a 3rd down conversion.)

How the fuck a defensive player gator-arm a screen pass??????

So let me get this str8.......

Falcons have a bunch of close games and we are lucky. Texans have some close games and they just find ways to win.

Werd. lmaaaoooo.

Losing 10 games in the same season >>>>> Losing one playoff game to the eventual champ.

I just hate how the media talk about the Falcons. As long as ive been A fan I should be use to it but the shit just never gets old.

After the Falcons lost to N.O and barely beat the Cardinals, I havent listened to any sports talk radio or watched any NFL shows on tv.

Just pisses me off.....

**Turkey Day Yac talking**

Fuck it

I'm used to it. We're just not one of those franchises that the media "want" to see win. And then you got the silly

hip-hop related bias from alot of black fans against anything ATL.

But like I said before -- It just makes the wins sweeter.

Fortunately, this ain't college football. Shit ain't based on computers or opinion. It's all about what happens on the field. And even though no NFL team has won more games than the Falcons since 2008 -- We just gotta shut down their last excuse -- winning in the playoffs.

I remember when Falcons haters had 50 excuses to hate on us. Now they're just down to one.

That's progress. lol

Its not just the Falcons tho its something about the national media and Atlanta. Niggas got so scared that the falcons were going to win a SB they started writing articles about the city talking bout we don't deserve it.

Yea I think I remember someone wrote an article saying we don't deserve it cause our fans wont appreciate it.

And yea it is something about sports writers/analyst and Atlanta. About two weeks ago when the Falcons were still 8-0 Im listening to ESPN radio in the car on the way home, they start talking about the Falcons and dude on there just says "I dont trust any team In Atlanta, not football, basketball or baseball". I was like WTF....

These old, mostly white, analysts (and fans) are trained to have an infatuation with certain cities when it comes to sports. And it really has nothing to do with sports.

L.A. is the worst sports city that there is as far as fan support (lost not one, not two, but 3 NFL teams, the Lakers have won 50 championships yet the staples center sounds like a church in the playoffs, etc, etc.) But they're infatuated with anything L.A. just because its hollywood.

And Atlanta doesn't have some weird, quasi-French culture like N'awlins. In fact, the most notable thing about Atlanta and its history is....

^^^^ And you know Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth don't wanna talk about that during a game, and the nikkas in the industry are too uncle tom'ish to speak on it.

In fact, outside of maybe Washington D.C. or maybe Detroit, there isn't a Blacker city in professional sports than Atlanta. All black everything. Mayor, Police chief, city council, population, music industry, etc, etc.

When teams win, networks and the media usually have to shine a light on the city. They don't wanna have to shine a light on 3 million nikkas gettin' paper. *shrugs*
