This could lead to the collapse of the U.K. Pretty interesting stuff.

Scotland and Northern Ireland want their independence.

David Cameron - the Prime Minister who destroyed the UK.

Didnt Scotland or N Ireland just vote to stay in the UK?

David Cameron didnt break up the UK. The vote to leave the EU did that. I think they should push this UK break up thing really hard to scare people. Yeah people wanted out of the EU but they didnt know the UK was going to break up.

Scotland just voted to remain in the UK. One reason they did that was to remain in the EU. I wonder if this will set up another referendum to exit the UK and join the EU themselves.

They have already called for another referendum with N.Ireland thinking about doing the same.

The whole of Scotland voted to stay in. They're mad with the England people right now...

Someone put me on to what this shit really means

Markets will be down today, investors will rush to treasuries and other government bonds, pushing down yields. American companies with offices in UK that sell to EU will have to move some offices to Ireland or elsewhere to stay compliant.

Whenever there's chaos and uncertainty businesses don't invest, growth will slow. The world is inter connected. David Cameron's a jackass for this

May be time to buy UK ETF after the smoke is cleared, markets tend to overreact at first then correct. Get those $ out, don't be a window shopper

Been following this heavily.

2 things, Cameron shouldn't have packaged the referendum with his re-election, but I don't think in 2012 he thought right wing politics would be so strong. I have a trip to the UK coming up pretty soon. Nice to see the pound dip a bit.

This will send tidal waves through the EU. France will be next in deciding whether or not to pull out. If France goes, Germany will see itself as bearing the burden of the EU,

The Swiss will make money off it all.

Germany is already holding the burden of the EU

I should clarify, the 4 big countries in the EU were Germany, UK, France and Italy. Obviously Germany was holding the fort down, but now with the UK gone, it plays an even bigger role. A recently nationalistic France could see the nation also flee the EU. At that point, Germany would be Atlas, the EU the globe.

I see a Scottish independence referendum pt. 2 soon on the cards again. UK gonna be Britain and N. Ireland now.

Can N.Ireland call a referendum based on the Good Friday agreement?

Situation is fucked. Funny thing is Euro-sceptic countries like Denmark, Italy, Austria, etc will be calling for referendums too. A domino effect could well be in place, but until then the UK can enjoy a plummeting currency and a devaluing of property and a resigning Prime Minister. Brave new world, eh.

Not so much, the smaller nations in the EU, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria etc will not want separation. Unlike the UK, they can't really stand on their own. We forget at one point in time the UK was a major world power whose empire expanded across the 7 oceans. Lol, we're speaking their language right now.

The only countries that I could see realistically wanting to leave are France and Germany (which I feel would be contingent on France leaving or not).

U.K. Banks are down double digits.

Time to find a UK financial ETF?

I don't pretend to be up on European politics. Why did the British people want to do this?

Although it won't be admitted publicly...right wing racists spent months scare mongering the British people on immigration issues...

UK being in the Euro meant people could freely come to the UK and take advantage of our NHS services, jobs etc...(probably the best health service in the world)

They sold it as we will have more control over our borders.

Reality is the immigration issue will still be just that....an issue.

lol.....Lots of fear = Lots of money. It will affect us temporarily, but we still have the strongest economy in the world. If anybody thinks brexit will fuck up America let me remind you of 2008. We couldn't even destroy our own economy. We'll be aight, if you have cash right now, take advantage of the fear. This is a friday, usually a slow trading day so the market being down don't mean as much as if this was a monday. A lot of emotion out there. Think clearly and you'll see it through.

The only way I see it being really long term is if there is a whole gang of reshuffling in the coming months. Don't listen to them CNBC niggas, they do a lot of guessing. Don't get shook when everybody else get scared, go in the fire and get that bread. We'll be fine.
