Wtf you think rap is? Artists performing! All that freestyle shit ain't entertaining. People come to see a real show not hear 90 second struggle freestyles that are basically off tops mixed with prewrittens.

The rappers have taken to not being seriously lately but in the past the 3 round, 3 minute battles have been some of hip-hop's best stuff.

With that said lol @ DNA getting bodied twice in the same year. Pass was smacking him around with ease. That had to be the worst extended name flip shit of all time...this nigga said Pass/Past....future....present a billion times.

That energy Pass brought to the battle is what I like to see. Straight recklessness, all hostility and viciousness. He put on a stellar performance.

Lotta Zay's second round was fire. Damn near flawless.

KG got BARS. IMO his delivery could use some work. His flow is kinda choppy, especially with those shaky schemes(he does have good stretches though).

I prefer Zay's delivery. On top of having serious bars he's more fluid with it.

IDK who won this battle. It's debatable or at the least it'll take a few watches to decide.

They moved that post from another thread that had people bashing rap battles, so my comment is out of context here.

Rap music is music. It has a set cadence, rhythm and harmony. Modern battle raps are more free form poetry mixed with theatrics. There is some overlap but due to improvised rebuttals, comedic timing, audience interruptions, traditional rap rhythm, structure, metre and measure are often discarded. This is not an insult to the art of battling.
