Does anybody agree that battle rap got corny once ever rapper decided to get a Signature chant or call?

It was revolutionary with Mooks "Easy!" At the end of rounds and it helped him build his buzz But since then it has gotten unbelievably wack and played out with battle rappers damn near relying on that shit to bring in rounds and crowds.

Theres a few that are tolerable like hollas "ball game" and some that are great ie: "ICE!...NIGGA!"

but majority are jus exhausting to hear and sound more like branding moves like Math, Arsonal, DNA and a host of others that plague the battle rap community. Its just getting a bit too gimmicky.

I posted about this, probably like 250 pages back. Look it up.

I personally think all these niggas are corny for adopting catchphrases, mainly because they're copycats. I know it's a crowd pleasing crowd participation thing, but everyone shouldn't be doing it.

DNA's catchphrase is wack and poorly executed IMO. It's like a crutch at the end of his rounds. And his punches are often forced struggle bars. He ain't really that nice.

Damn...and ain't shit changed after those struggle punches @ BOTB6.

Cortez is another nigga that switched his style ...check the battle vs Con to the battle vs Holla vs Marv all the way to Hollohan . In the Con battle he had a consistent flow, then he slowly started doin that build-up/explain out bars that annoys the fucc outta me Rap nigga just fuccin Rap stop explainin shit
