SMACK was right. The guys with names aren't performing up to standard.
Bars over names.
These dudes are waaaay too comfortable. It's a shame that so many of them have the same tendencies in that sense...talking about moving the culture forward but they have no hunger any more and no urgency.
Conceited was funny addressing the crowd, but that doesn't make his bullshit acceptable. And smh @ being the second (if not worse) person to steal the "top blue/blew up or blue/blew off top like Marge Simpson" line in recent battles. That's blatant biting, not a coincidence.
I won't act like that third didn't happen. It shows where these dudes heads are at (II).
The battle was bad overall. Conceited is like Lil Wayne with his take a million punches hopefully one lands bullshit. A lot of his shit is corny. Hitman needs to step his bars up. SMACK needs to find some hungry up and comers (or just newcomers to URL) to beat these guys and send them on their way or force them to actually be under pressure.
nah chill i might be the only 1 that feel this way, but i think us fans expect too much....... conceited, hitman holla, charlie clips, dna ....... they are basically doing the same shit they been doing, its just that shit is just predictable now..... they still have bars, we as fans just expect too much from them.....
i said this earlier in the thread, watch fan favorite b-magic and chilla jones get played out real quick when fans get tired of magic rapid punches/name flips and chilla quadruple scheming ....lol
like these dudes is still nice as hell its just that they are extremely predictable........
I disagree. Expecting urgency and tenacity isn't "expecting too much" IMO. To move forward you need to expand on what you've been doing. You need to sharpen your sword. You need to be creative.
How did we get to where we're at? Certain guys pushed the envelope creatively and made names for themselves. Now this little popularity in the underground rap world is enough for them. They're comfortable just getting paid to bullshit with their battle rap friends on stage and laugh with each other while they put on a piss poor show. Battle rappers should never feel comfortable doing what they did in that third round. These same niggas will call themselves "the best." FOH.
It's become false bravado for show and delusions of grandeur. Conceited was fucking up on the spot while at the same time telling the crowd he's the nicest. His opponent should have slaughtered him. Hitman was reciting all that old shit while getting booed for that stale shit. His opponent should have murdered him. It's a battle.
I'm more critical about most things. It's probably just my tendencies...personality traits, etc. I'm not the "let them cook" type. If some shit is wack I'll say it. NOME3 was corny as fuck for the most part and they can't blame SMACK for that. It's on the artists.
As far as the examples of B Magic and Chilla Jones, I've been critiquing them for the longest. B Magic has ONE flow, ONE speed, ONE method of attack. Chilla lacks energy, flow, charisma, and versatility. They're both nice at what they do, but what they do doesn't cover even half of what they could be if they worked on it. That's why DNA bodied Chilla 3-0.
