Nah I think they would of done well, I mean look at the quality of players they have, I think they would make it out the groups stages... And the amount of players, like Sanchez for example, that arnt gonna make the WC, what is a WC without the best of the best playing??? This is one WC Im not hyped for atm, the fact its in Russia doesnt help... Just seems so boring... Arab countries refused to play Israel so they had to leave Asian group in 1974. They joined UEFA in 1994. Also, moving to Oceania wouldn't ensure Ireland's qualification because they could play a South American team (this time) or a CONCACAF team (like Mexico last time).
