#4 Rated RB in the 2013 class just threw the horns down and verbally committed to OU...
=related

So far we got the #1 RB in texas and now the #4 overall RB in the nation in the same class.

Aw shyt....

that nigga has no pull away speed , i wasnt all that impressed by the video , maybe he'll get much better once he gets major D-1 training , but i saw a dude who takes a thousand steps in the same area and doesnt cover much ground , and his top end speed looked horrible

Reminds me of Emmitt Smith. No track speed, but he hits holes smooth, and pulls away.

*shrug*

That's the #1 back in Florida for what it's worth.

i guess , maybe it's a down year in the RB class , but i wasn't impressed at all by that video , guess time will tell

but he can get quicker and faster , i hate when some coaches say "You Cant teach speed" , yes you can ..i've seen plenty of people get faster

dont guys usually end up getting faster before the combine with the correct training? now u might cant teach a guy going from a 4.9 to a 4.2 , but u can have a guy with proper training come from a 4.7 to a 4.5

depends how u eat, train ..stride length and how fast your turnover is ..i seen plenty of guys get faster hell i was one also ...

Hell Lesean McCoy his first year in the NFL didnt look near as fast/quick as he did this season he had pull away speed this last NFL season he said he worked on a lot of top end speed

While we talkin rb commits might as well introduce y'all niggas to the next great running back at uga

Derrick henry

An impressive physical specimen, Henry does not have the prototypical measureables for a prospective college running back. At 6-3, 241 pounds, Henry runs like a freight train through opposing defenses. However, don’t take his gargantuan size to mean that he lacks the speed to play running back at the FBS level. Henry has been timed at a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, and upon watching his film it quickly becomes apparent that he possesses the top-end speed necessary to become a dominant tailback.

“I bench probably like 360 (pounds),” Henry said. “That was my last bench, but I think I can get like 370 right now. I squat 495 and power clean 330.”

But you gotta realize that not all RB's are built the same. Emmit Smith was never a "burner" or "juker" like Walter Payton or Barry Sanders. But his vision at the LOS was >>>>>>>

This kid plays above the neck when he gets the handoff and then below the neck once he hits the hole.

A contrast would be those RB's that have the "cute" HS highlights of them blazing past everybody, but then they get to the next level and only get about 3 yards a carry 'cause they're running on the heels and up the backs of their O-lineman.

Take Brennan Clay for example...

He was a top recruit of ours out of Cali a few years ago who had that "cute" highlight speed and 40-time. But that nigga has zero vision. Which is why he's currently splitting time with 5'8" running back (Roy Finch) and a Walk-On (Dominique Whaley)

Looked up Greg Bryant Speed and it had him at 4.57 , thats about right by looking at the film i dont see a burner or a super quick guy , like inglewood said he seems like a guy thats dominating HS kids cuz he's just bigger and stronger than they are (5'11 200) , i didnt see any great runs at all ,

But with the correct work that 4.57 can easily become a 4.51

i didnt say his Highlights had to be "Cute" i was just pointing out what i notice , just didnt see a overly quick or fast guy , usually if a guy isn't fast he still has great footwork and very quick feet , cuz i agree not every RB has Elite speed but just about all good/great RB's have excellent footwork ...... he just doesn't standout to me , maybe he'll put on more weight in College and be a Bruiser

i dont know what Arian Foster runs but he looks average speed wise and thats being nice he doesn't look like he has great speed but he has great vision and excellent footwork ...

i was just looking for qualities in the guy that makes a RB standout , it wasnt all about speed but that stood out but i was looking at his lack of quickness and footwork as well ...

FLA. rarely turns out shit RB's so we'll see , but i was just waiting on that moment in the video that made me go "Okay i see why he's rated highlY" i just never saw it

Our offense needs RB's with good vision, regardless of 40-time.

Word to my favorite Walk-On...

^^^^ That's vision vs. talent

Can't wait to get him back 100%.

whaley got that break away speed tho. just look at the seperation he get. he actually outran the defense, and the gap grew wider the longer he ran.

Big difference between pro prospects and impact college players, bruh. lol. I'm'a need you to clarify.

And Wilson is just where Landry was last year. Had the resume and the "newness" so everybody was on his nuts.

Even tho he ain't my favorite OU QB, he owns damn near all the OU passing records (yep, more than Heisman winners Sam Bradford and Jason White) and he could've literally been the third QB taken in this year's draft if he wanted to.

i Like Wilson cuz he moves around much better than Jones , Jones is so fuckin flat footed, he's good though , but i think Wilson can do more

As a pro-prospect, you might be right. The best pro-prospect QBs usually come from "middle of the pack" programs.

I wouldn't take Landry any higher than the 3rd round in the draft.

But the nigga does Mr. CJ post-numbers year after year.

LOL! bruh if Greenwood makes a list you know some how something from OU will be on the list or he wont even bother with the list.

Best states with beaches in America by Greenwood1921

1. Cali

2. florida

3. Texas

4. north carolina

5. Oklahoma - The beach volleyball court by alpha kappa alpha house on the OU campus - I know its not a beach but I heard they shipped there sand from the virgin island.
