Great defender but a poor fitness rate and a proper bad attitude. Can't say I'm that bothered to be honest, he probably on signed for Spurs just to try and piss Arsenal off. We've apparently put in a bid for Squillaci anyway... so yeah, whatever. Good for him

great signing for tott, they need some strong characters in their squad... that attitude didnt always suit arsenal, but should be great for spurs... they need someone of his character, and harry will no how to handle him, he knows how to deal with them sort of players... plus on a free??? daum lol

It doesn't compare to when Wenger robbed Sol Campbell on the free, Tottenham fans nearly 10 years later are still pissed to this day about that one. The average Tottenham fan will love this because, like you said, they picked up a good defender on the free and they also probably think they've shitted on us. He was going to go regardless so your typical Gooner would just give it the Kanye shrug

You watch, he'll probably be amazing for Spurs now and score the winning goal in the Champions League final

The octopus that grabbed fame by predicting correctly the result of each of Germany's matches at this year's World Cup has switched allegiance to England.

Paul has been appointed as an ambassador to England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

Germany beat England 4-1 in the second round of the World Cup in the most recent installment of the nations' ongoing football rivalry, but the switch is a natural one for Paul.

Although he became famous by calling Germany's results and the Spain-Netherlands final from an aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany, Paul is English born.

He hatched at Weymouth Sea Life Center on England's south coast in 2008.

"Paul has spent the last two years of his life in Germany but he is definitely a proud Englishman," Weymouth Sea Life Center manager Nicola Hamilton said. "We have had a number of football approaches from around the world but Paul was only ever going to choose his homeland."

With his eight tentacles, Paul is more adept at shaking hands than sweet-talking FIFA's 24-man executive committee which will vote in December on which nation gets to host the tournament.

But his role is simply to bring extra publicity to a country competing with the United States, Russia and joint bids by Belgium-Netherlands and Spain-Portugal.

"Paul the Octopus is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in football," former England winger John Barnes said. "Huge numbers of people will follow Paul's lead and back the bid."

Paul's World Cup success garnered huge attention, with footage of him making predictions by choosing which of two mussels to devour appearing on television worldwide. Paul made his choice by opening the lid of one of two clear plastic boxes, each bearing the flag of one of the teams and containing a mussel.

Imitators sprang up all over the world, including Mani the parakeet in Singapore and Lorenzo the parrot in Hannover, Germany.

The latest is a saltwater crocodile named Dirty Harry, who predicted Spain's World Cup final win and this week called the result of Australia's general election by snatching a chicken carcass dangling beneath a caricature of Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

But Paul has stopped short of predicting that England will host the World Cup for the first time since 1966. After his uncanny run of World Cup success, Paul retired from the role of octopus oracle.

Bayern Munich v VfL Wolfsburg,

this should be a fun fun game. Lmao Robben injured already. I love the guy as a player, but the dude is such a weakling.

Strong squad for Bayern though, nice to see Kroos starting. Surprised to see that Wolfsburg held on to Edin Dzeko so far. I would have loved to see us go after him, Drogba and Anelka are not getting any younger.

The first week of EPL was great. I watched most of the matches that they showed on TV. Was last week just a bad week for Arsenal? Because they are killing Blackpool.

To be fair, Blackpool were playing great too. They pass the ball very well. But the red card has really killed this game. I honestly doubt Blackpool will be going back down. The way they play, they will really kill some bad teams, and thats all u need to stay up.

Well, it's a different class of team they're playing. Last week they faced Liverpool, which is one of the best teams in England, and this week they are playing Blackpool, who were just promoted to the Premier League. Make sure you catch the Chelsea game next, the Man United game tomorrow and the City v Liverpool game on Monday - that should be a great one.

Walcott's having a sick match according to the BBC. Match of The Day's going to be quality tonight

He is having a freaking awesome match. But if i am an Arsenal fan, the dude would frustrate me. With every awesome thing he does, he follows it up with 2 dumb insane things. The Kalou syndrome, i call it. Luckily for u guys in this match, it is 1 dumb move, to 2 awesome ones. He is the man of the match so far though, so i guess u guys can not complain.
