lol at the record credits giving a special thanks shout out to eazy e. lol at this being your proof that eazy wasnt involved pre-nwa. smmfh

But the Stereo Crew record came out a year earlier. It says written by O Jackson (Ice Cube) and A Wheaton produced by Alonzo Williams and Andre Young (Dr Dre). Eazy's name is nowhere to be found on that record label.

The undisputed fact is that Dre and Ice Cube (and possibly Yella) were making records together before NWA formed.

And just because that CIA record says "Special thanks o Eazy E" doesn't mean that he had anything to do with the production.

R-1028887-1276237175.jpeg.jpg

In an unpublished interview from '95 Eazy talks about bringing Cube and Dre together and changing their individual styles to form NWA.

RP:

Which N.W.A. tracks are you talking about in particular?

Eazy-E:

"Findum, ****em and Flee," "She Swallowed It"…me and Ren did a lot of stuff. "Approach to Danger"… a lot of them. I can't remember all of them. A lot of stuff, you could tell if you knew Dre [and] his style. He was in N.W.A., but Dre came from the Wrecking Crew, but I got him to do this other type of music I wanted to do, the gangsta @#%$, and I got Dre away from what he was doing. Ice Cube was from C.I.A. and the Stereo Crew, and if you knew their style, they were like the Beastie Boys. I put' em together, and we formed N.W.A., and they changed their style. And they started hollering Compton because that's where we were from: me, Ren, and Yella.

Smh at anyone other than Eazy creating NWA. Fucking ignorant haters disgust me.

If Alonzo was such a key player and the root why didnt his tree ever blossom??? If alonzo was so important and if eazy was just an after thought as you say explain to me why alonzo's group flopped but eazy used the same core and his group made history? If alonzo was already connected to dre cube yella and michel'le before eazy why wasnt he able to do what eazy did? Why didnt any of these people find the sustained sucess with him that they found with eazy? If alonzo was so great why didnt he create NWA? He had all the pieces. If he was so important and so great at creating influential groups why couldnt he make another one after his original group fell apart? Ive asked these questions before and ur hating ass hasnt answered any of them.

You gotta admit that Dre and Cube switched their style up after Eazy-E came into their life, they were a Beastie Boys type group with Wrecking Crew and CIA, and they didn't have NWA type buzz at all. Eazy-E's solo album was dropped before NWA's group album, and the buzz from Eazy and his genuine street cred gave NWA credibility and a buzz that it otherwise wouldn't have had.

If Eazy found another great producer outside of Dre (which I think he could have done since he loved to go clubbing and his boy MC Ren was already rapping), there's a decent chance Eazy would have found that star producer and put some other rappers on, creating NWA without Dre. Many have said this and it's why many say Eazy-E is the godfather of gangsta rap, and he damn well could be. Dre gets my full respect though, he did a lot.

I agree with the bolded. Dre and Cube did indeed switch their style up. But the fact remains they were making records together, with Yella before they hooked up with Eazy. So if you want to get technical, the NWA family tree started with Dre and Yella in the World Class Wrecking Crew and then they hooked up with Ice Cube and eventually they got down with Eazy and Ren.

That's all I have to say. I'm not going to repeat the same thing over and over again.

True, but then again, maybe things would be better for the Black community if NWA never formed and Dre became an R & B producer.

I think R&B as a genre is more desirable than gangsta rap. Gangsta rap has ruined a lot of people's minds. They grow up wanting to be thugs instead of going to college and getting a degree and making something of themselves. I can't place the blame squarely on gangsta rap's shoulders, but I think gangsta rap hurts the community more than it helps.

I disagree but I get what you saying. You can't blame gangsta rap for ruining communities, bad parenting and bad economies is what ruins communities. And some kids will be bad asses regardless in rare cases, but that's bigger than music. And being a good parent is beyond putting food on the table and paying the rent or mortgage.

You discounted the infiltration of state sanctioned Drugs (mafia, right wing cartels) and the marginalization of black communities that was a remnant of the destruction of the black power movement which ended in riots that made the LA riots look tame.

I agree, I did leave that out. Reagan and his CIA helped dealers from Central and South America sell and push drugs in the hood and other places to buy American guns. And when the govt brought Black power groups down, many programs that were set up and were being set up were destroyed, further bringing down Black communities.

All this has done more harm to Blacks then gangsta rap, which is only describing what's going on anyway.

explain to me how the nwa family tree starts without eazy when nwa didnt exist before eazy? fuck you mean they eventually got down with eazy. eazy is the one who bought them all together on his terms. dont take my word for it ask eazy himself you fucking dumbass.

Lol I hear you, Dre and Yella were making music before Eazy did but as far as NWA itself and on its own, Eazy's persona, style, and lifestyle were crucial to NWA being as big as they became. Dre, Cube and Yella on their own would have been another version of Sugarhill Gang. In fact, that's what they were on their road too without Eazy. MC Ren being a hard MC rubbed off on everyone else too.

Eazy's lifestyle, finances, and persona turned them into the super group we know but I see what you saying. Dre's shiny suits says a lot about him before NWA lol

Black communities and Black families were more together before total integration (which lowered poverty but created other problems long term), and I still SMH when I think of the many times in history White folk burned down or attacked Black towns because Blacks weren't spending money in their White neighborhoods.

Glenn Beck can hold his stupid march all he wants, the reality is that if a Black guy kills a cop or white guy, he more then likely will get caught and arrested. But an unarmed Black guy getting choked to death on camera doesn't even bring an indictment.

Just because you're the money don't mean shit.

Dre is the key to the start of NWA.

That's like coming up with Google but you used Wells Fargo to fund it and saying Wells Fargo is the reason for Google instead of the ppl that acutally out it together.

according to ya boy @"5 Grand" thats exactly what happened. regeanomics had nothing to do with it. neitheer did the lapd, the drugs, or instituional racism. according to him gangsta rap ruined everybody's mind. not the drugs that were intentionally placed in our communities but eazy e and gangsta rap.

dre, ren and eazy knew each other before the wcwc. dre was a local dj while eazy was a party promtoer. both eazy and dre where in high powered productions as well. eazy started ruthless, created nwa, bought all the talent together and paid for the studio time. alonzo williams didnt do that eazy mothafuckin e did. so please explain to me @"5 Grand" how anyone other than eric wright is responsible for nwa?

Arguing over who should get the lionsshare of the credit all day is a waste of time. Fact of matter is these guys were all lucky in that they found each other and were all talented.

Mc ren is a respected lyricist that was a great emcee and even after nwa put out an album, shock of the hour...that is a personal classic to me

Dj yella obviously left the game alone for a while to do porn shit, and he was wildly successful in that.

And those two are the "least successful" of the crew. There is absolutely no need for me to discuss the other three and what they did. Success wise they shit on any other group not only in hip hop but maybe in any form of music period.

Maybe the beatles and rolling stones can compare in terms of success in the group, outsude the group and in various other business ventures.

These five dudes have accounted for billions of dollars in entertainment, record labels, movies, headphones, whatever the fuck

This was a great gathering of minds to do all this

You guys talking about it like who is more important russell wilson, lynch, sherman, pete Carroll, etc...it's the team as a whole.

The sum was greater than the individual parts, and everything clicked. Isn't it enough to be in awe of that alone, rather than nitpick over who told who to wear a raiders cap?

But who put the team together though? Would u take a guy seriously if he told you the gm had nothing to do with Seattle's success and they are only succesful b/c Richard Sherman played at Stanford b4 he got drafted? Nevermind that Sherman didnt do it by himself, or that Stanford has never been a consistent national power or that he was a little known mid round pick that every team passed on at least 4 times b4 John Schneider took him. Would you take that person seriously especially when u know that person has a history of trying to invalidate other succesful people's accomplishments?

What if some1 told u that Jordan had nothing to do with the bulls championships and that they won 6 titles b/c pippen ran wind sprints at central arkansas. What if some1 told u that Obama only became president b/c Biden went to the univ of delaware and that Obama himself had nothing to do with it. And then you find out that same person is a gop operative whose only goal in life is to make sure Obama loses. Would u take that person seriouly?

People still not gettin the "start of the family tree" concept

Its not about discrediting anyone. Its about finding the root of the music

I found another record that Dr Dre was involved in that came out in 1984. On this record, Dr Dre is scratching. On the b-side of the 12" there's a mix called Scratching 100 Speakers which appears to be Dr Dre scratching the Fresh sound from Change The Beat.
