Wow, this guy is really passionate about Eazy gettin his credit.

I dont know when Eazy and Dre met personally but history says they first MET IN MUSIC after Dre worked with others in the collective. This is about the lineage of the music.

i just recognize what this slick backdoor hating really is. this is an attempt to deligitmize s legend. this whole eazy wasnt that big of a deal is a way of undercutting his success and the success and dominance of his musical legacy. its a way for haters who dont like hip-hop supremacy being recognized outside of the east coast in general and nyc in particular to take shots. at its core this is the same shit that snoop was talking about when he kicked over the buildings and the same shit pimp c was talking about on quit hating the south. this that same bullshit that had nyc booing the kast at the source awards. whats funny is that 20 years later nyc wont get off they dick.

if i give yall a pass on a bonified og like eazy the haters wont hesitate in going after anyone else. if you cant respect a legend like eazy you cant respect the game. and if you cant respect the game you'll be quick to hate on everything that isnt your thing. all im saying is that the jealousy, envy, coast hating and bullshit has to stop. this shit has been going on since short dog was young in the game and it has always come from the east coast. yall got to stop this man. all this hating and backhanded bullshit has to stop

If it wasnt for Eazy, Dr.Dre prolly wouldve ended up an r&b producer

He wouldn'tve gotten on that path to make Chronic and put snoop on

And the NWA tree starts with NWA. Theres no NWA without Eazy..theres no NWA without Dre. Dre would've still had a music career without Eazy but like i said..i doubt it wouldve been on the same "gangsta track" that it took after the formation of nwa

True, but then again, maybe things would be better for the Black community if NWA never formed and Dre became an R & B producer.

I think R&B as a genre is more desirable than gangsta rap. Gangsta rap has ruined a lot of people's minds. They grow up wanting to be thugs instead of going to college and getting a degree and making something of themselves. I can't place the blame squarely on gangsta rap's shoulders, but I think gangsta rap hurts the community more than it helps.

I disagree but I get what you saying. You can't blame gangsta rap for ruining communities, bad parenting and bad economies is what ruins communities. And some kids will be bad asses regardless in rare cases, but that's bigger than music. And being a good parent is beyond putting food on the table and paying the rent or mortgage.

I get what your sayin here. And I have thought along these lines before too about NWA. But I have come to realize thats too simplistic. The 80s (before NWA) were arguably just as bad as the 90s in that regard. Its just in the 80s it wasnt so much in the forefront but the same things were going on. In fact the 90s saw way more entrepreneurs who were able to feed their families off of "gangster rap" or whatnot. I do agree that "thuggin" "gangsta" "the streets" and such mentality skyrocketed after NWA but NWA was inevitable as things progressed so there is no "if they never happened" it doesnt work that way they were a result of what was going on. Its not their fault if people had life fcked up.

This is just yet another way for you to remind the IC that Dre was once a R & B artist.

You've been doing the same thing since I joined the site.

So you're saying the CIA EP was R&B?

Ill Legal - CIA

They sound like a black Beastie Boys. I thought that this was common knowledge though.

I don't understand how the nwa family tree starts with dre when there was no nwa until Eazy came along

You piecing shit together to discredit Eric but without him there is no nwa, simply put

You might as well say the nwa family tree starts with some random slave owner

"He owned dre's great great great great great grandma and cube's great great great great great uncle....."

Dre don't write raps tho

So technically it began with cube

But with no money them niggas wasn't doin shit

So.....Eazy duz it

Dre was making beats for Ice Cube before they got down with NWA. I agree that Eazy started Ruthless Records and it took off from there, but the facts remain that Dre, Yella and Ice Cube were in the music industry before Eazy. Dre had several songs under his belt before NWA formed.

Its like saying the Wu Tang family tree starts with RZA and GZA because they had records before Wu Tang formed as a group.

On the first Wu Tang album Method Man got the most shine, but I don't think anybody would say the Wu Tang family tree starts with Method Man.

Everybody rapped like that in the mid 80s. Its really Run DMC's style but the Beastie Boys ran with it.
