here, for christmas, the military holds a ceremony where families purchases christmas reefs to be placed on the tombstones of your loved one that served in the military. They call the soldiers name and someone from the family receives the reef, then after everyone's name has been called, they dismiss everyone to let them place the reef on the tombstone

its packed with people.

I dont look at myself are any other vet as a hero. Some vets that were in combat get my utmost respect. But that mfer that served next to me only gets my respect cause of the sacrifice of time and family they endured. But even that is slowly eroding because of contracting out the military responsibilities.
