I feel that Dame and Biggs thought he would never take the position.

WTF, goes to show how little and sparse your hiphop knowledge is dude, you are your mind if you think Irv has always been a coorporate dude, like he doesn't have street ties. All them niggas came from the streets.

Jazo said Jay wasn't in the streets huh, ok because how did Rocafella start up and don't say Dame and Biggs, because why would you split profits 3 ways if a nigga ain't chip in equally. How do you explain numerous niggas saying he was in DC and VA hustlin, how do you explain niggas he ran with (Emory) doing 15 plus years in prison. Sounds to me like a small time nigga!

The only niggas you ever hear call it fake is niggas who have financial or business bitterness with him (Jazo, CK, and Dehaven). Why would CK and Dehaven have issues with dude if he was some petty drug dealer, they wouldn't feel no type of way if he was some nickle and bagger dude. Use some fucking logic nigga!

Petty time drug dealers would of been exposed by know and if CK and Dehaven were as heavy as they think they are, they wouldn't even care what some small time nigga like Jay did with his career post drug game and don't say it's based on friendship either because we've seen how Jay has treated Emory.

Irv is from Marcy also so his word hold weight on this topic.

damn where did this thread go.

dehaven who was a big drug dealer confirms jay is hustling big stuff in Va wit him, he said they were best friends he said he went to VA and once they took over some blocks, he came back and got jay.

calvin klien has nothin to do wit roc a fella or jay-z as an artist(lol him developing jay, or giving him an image), jay may have took it by just seeing how he moved, but klien never developed jay, jay was around alot of hugh drug dealers (klien, danny dan, dehaven) so he probably took his image from all of them. klien was hugh drug dealer who sold ki's. jay as a drug dealer wasnt close to that but being with dehaven mean he moved a good amount. before klien went to jail jay wasnt really big into rap, he didn t really have any songs, he was really just wit jaz and people knew he could rap.

jay was introdued to dame like in 92, and they tried to get jay signed to a label, no one would sign him so they, so all 3 of them put there money up and started roc a fella records together.

yall using all these hypothetical if's like all the info on these dudes background aint already out there

jay should have told klien the truth about why he didnt mess wit him, and keep it movin

it thought irv was from queens, im pretty sure he aint from marcy

I could be wrong but on some documentary about Jay. They were discussing hard knock life the song and Irv stated" that song was Marcy. That song was us". so i thought he meant he ws Marcy too

Clark might have convinced Dame that Jay-Z was the best rapper alive, but no labels were signing dude. Along with Dame and Clark, we must have shopped Jay to every label under the sun. I remember specifically sitting in Def Jam begging Lyor Cohen for a shot. He passed. I also remember how some exec at Polygram asked us why they should sign a Jay-Z when they had the platinum-selling group Black Sheep on their roster. Eventually, the only label that showed interest was this small indie called Payday Records which was run by record exec Patrick Moxey (who later managed Gangstarr). Moxey signed Jay for like 25-30K, had Jay locked in for a couple of singles and several albums. Jay dropped the single 'In My Lifetime' with minimal marketing support. You already know, the one with the yacht that Jay, Dame, and Biggs chartered with their own money. For the record, 'In My Lifetime' was Jay's second official solo single. His first was 'I Can't Go For That,' which Dame and 'em dropped from out the back of their trunks a year prior. 'In My Lifetime' was dope, but because Jay was totally unknown, the record flopped. Shortly after the single dropped, Moxey and Payday dropped Jay-Z. Yes, dropped Jay-Z. Two years later, Jay dropped Reasonable Doubt. To this day, whenever I run into Moxey, I get the feeling he can't look me in the eye because of how I know how he dropped Hov. Not a good look to say the least. No shots, though."

Something had to happen between Jay and Dehaven for Dehaven to be so bitter and Jay to be dissing him.
On another note, Jay put money up for Emory, wrote a letter asking for Emory to be able to take part in business, etc.

Yeah Emory is Jay's cousin. Jay, Dehaven & Emory were a tight trio back when they was hustlin', Dehaven being the bigger hustler

jay said that he a snitch, if its true i understand why jay dont mess wit him, if its false i understand why dehaven is mad. he treated dehaven worst then he did klien, he hasnt even talked him since he been out. and dehaven and jay was still cool in 2000 cause i saw him in that mtv behind the music of jay. they was in the club together when beans jumped over the cage and was chasing that dude
