oh boo hoo. who gives a fuck? business is business. make a donation to dame dash if you're so worried about his well being.

I don't feel sorry for Dame. He had it coming. Lyor would say that he made the right decision.

I'm not crying or worried about Dame, but you seem real touchy on the snake activities of Shawn Carter being known as "business". Some will say Dame had it coming but when you have Jewish business men and their flunkies in the music industry trying to control you and your music and if you was Dame... what else would you do?

nah you're misreading me. i don't give a fuck about jay z. i mean i like his music but he's not my favorite mc or anything like that. i just notice certain topics keep coming up on the reason and one of them is dame dash.

i find it a lil strange.

i just heard a nice line by a sacramento rapper today he said something like, "would you really be in rocawear if pac was here?"

Was he trying to get her to the ROC or Un wouldn't let up?

Never heard about him tryna get her to the ROC...i guess it was the whole jay smashin her and un (&cam maybe) smashin her that lead to the un beef along side the vol bootlegging.

Didnt read through the whole thread but can someone explain Kanyes role in the Rocafella-break up for me. Did he screw Dame over to stay with Jay for the better of his career even though Dame was the one that put him on back in the day..If so why havent I ever heard Dame diss the shit out of him or Kanye getting flack for it in general..

Actually Def Jam owned 50% of the ROC. They bought a 50% stake for $1.5M in 97 when they signed the 1st distribution deal.

"Jay, Dash and Burke recently renewed their contract with Def Jam for a reported $20 million. They brought Roc-A-Fella to the label in 1997 and sold the initial half-stake to Def Jam at that time for $1.5 million."

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1494616/jayz-dame-dash-sell-rocafella-records.jhtml

this is actually incorrect ... def jam never owned or had any form of actual ownership in the roc. it was simply a distribution deal where the roc got 50%, def jam got 25% and polygram got the other 25%. i dont know why mtv would report that. why would jay, dame, and biggs sell half their company for 1.5 million ?? LOL they would then have to split it 3 ways. $500,000 for half of your company?? yeah iiight LOL one album from jay z was worth that much back then

its was simply a distrubution deal .. if any thing ... the 1.5 was a signing bonus

For Kanye is was a no brainer. He blew up right at the end of the ROC.

Not only that, but Dame didn't have any distribution. By the time the Roc split, College Dropout & Late Registration were both 2x Platinum and Kanye had become a star by then, so if Kanye would have went with Dame it wouldn't have been hard to get a distribution deal.
