If any black rapper sells more than Hov, then I will admit it. No doubt. But Marshall got a head-start over everyone because of his color.

Tupac has sold more than Hov, I'm not sure about Biggie or DMX though.

When DMX was "the man", he was definitely outselling Jay. I'd say circa 1999-2001, DMX was the hottest rapper in the game.

Like I said though...Jay benefits from releasing albums so frequently. That's why he's able to attain the sales that he does, because he oversaturates the market.

If DMX had 11 studio albums, I'm pretty sure he'd be around 50 million worldwide, too.

50 Cent would have probably surpassed that total.

It cannot apply to Marshall because he has an unfair advantage over every other black artist. When analyzing Eminem's commercial accomplishments, you have to take into consideration that he is a white rapper releasing music in a white-majority country.

1. Radio interviews are irrelevant. Besides, Hov destroyed Nas on Superugly the next day and on Blueprint 2 a year later.

2. Collaborations don't mean much. Jadakiss and Ludacris always murder nas on collaborations, but that doesn't make them a better rapper.

3. Hov's catalogue is better than Nas'.

4. Eminem's commercial accomplishments are largely due to his whiteness. We've already gone over this. Marshall admitted himself he never would have sold as much if he was blessed with melanin.

5. Jay is the goat because of millions of sales, longevity in the game, big impact, large influence, and classic albums.

But where is DMX now? To be the best you have to sell millions, release quality music and dominate the game over a long period of time. Hov has done this. You can't pop for a minute and only outsell someone for two years. That's nothing. Maybe X would have sold more if he stayed off the crack, but the fact remains that Dmx fell off, while Hov stayed on top and took the crown.

You only have to look at Asher Roth, Paul Wall, Bubba Sparxx, Everlast and Cage's record sales to have the brain capacity to see no one buy's records based on an Artist being the same race as them

Now Vanilla Ice sold alot with his debut Album but what happened to his second Album? i rest my case

Then we gotta look at the sales of black Artists like 2pac, Biggie, Nelly, Lil Wayne and Snoop they are black and have sold not as much as Eminem but not that far behind so obviously black Artists have always sold records so of course Eminem would sell records too

If you have genuine talent, make real Hit records, make Music that touches people and have personality then you will sell records if you balance those things out
