And yet after all that Hov is still the greatest.

Millions of records, longevity, and a great catalogue with four classic albums.

maaaannn i dont like camel but this goes w/o saying... whether u like him or not dude in 10 years is gonna be considered the undisputed G.O.A.T he already is the G.O.A.T (w/ much respect to pac n big but whose to say what couldve been if they were still here today, i still think camel woulda came up either way). smh dude has defined the meaning of success in hiphop n hes definitely the best alive. obviously niggas have flaws i mean comeon do we really think that pac coulda held his own in a lyrical bout w/ Big ? prolly not . Could Big go in depth like a nigga like Nas n use 10 to 20 diff't entendres to send a philosophical message ? nah. camel has his flaws but that dont discredit his success & accomplishments. one thing he has over the dead legends is that their talent will forever stay the same whereas camel has all the time in the world to get better & surpass them.

Dude I don't know how you can make that comment about big and pac who forced the world to turn its ear towards rap music.

Jay z has said numerous ties that reasonable doubt is his greatest work and from your comments I'm guessing you where around back then but where was the success of Jay z?? Greatest Of All Time

If you had your last twenty five dollars and (remeber cds cost a bout 21,22 dollars back then) walked in a tower records in 96, 97 and wanted some shit to listen to and they had jay z reasonable doubt, nas it was written, and the firm, biggie life after death, 2pac's all eyes on me, and killluminati the 7 theory, the fugees the score, outkast ATLaliens WHICH WOULD YOU BUY?

2pac would never have sold those numbers if it wasn't for his death.

Famous artists always sell more after they pass.

Hov's flow >>>>>>>>>>>>> Pac's flow

Hov's lyrics >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pac's lyrics

Hov's delivery >>>>>>>>>>>> Pac's delivery

Hov's wordplay>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pac's wordplay

Hov's catalogue >>>>>>>>>>> Pac's catalogue

the only category pac was better in was emotion.

It's ironic to me that when Jigga advocates talk about him being the great rapper alive and/or of all time, they neglect to mention the fact that Em demolished him on "Renegade" and that Nas had him crying like a little pussy ass bitch on Hot 97.

In order to be the best, you have to beat the best. And whenever Jay competes against the best, he loses.

Catalog and the term "classic" are perceptive. But I'm more than certain that Nas has just as many universally accepted classics that Jay does, if not more. Nas even inspired Jay musically.

And furthermore, Jay is not seeing Em when it comes to commercial accomplishments.

So how exactly is Jay the GOAT?

1. Radio interviews are irrelevant. Besides, Hov destroyed Nas on Superugly the next day and on Blueprint 2 a year later.

2. Collaborations don't mean much. Jadakiss and Ludacris always murder nas on collaborations, but that doesn't make them a better rapper.

3. Hov's catalogue is better than Nas'.

4. Eminem's commercial accomplishments are largely due to his whiteness. We've already gone over this. Marshall admitted himself he never would have sold as much if he was blessed with melanin.

5. Jay is the goat because of millions of sales, longevity in the game, big impact, large influence, and classic albums.

It was actually the general public that voted Eminem the Greatest of all time on Vibe Magazine this past year

3 critically acclaimed classic Album's with The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP & The Eminem Show, countless Grammy Awards, countless Hit records on the Chart, Diamond Plaques, Highest selling Artist in modern history, classic amongst the greatest ever records like Lose Yourself & Stan, Oscar Award for Lose Yourself and peer respect considered top 5 greatest of all time at the very least by many of his peers such as Jay Z, Redman, Joe Budden, Fabolous etc

Written records for Dr Dre as well on his Chronic 2001 Album

http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/66545/results

This poll has 2pac as the best rapper....and that Vibe magazine poll asked who was the greatest rapper ALIVE, not of all time.

You can't just dismiss Em's commercial accomplishments because he's white. This is hip-hop. No one's exempt. The same criteria that you're applying to Jay, have to be applied to everyone else. If Jay is the GOAT because of his millions of sales, longevity in the game, big impact, large influence, and classic albums, then the same has to apply to Em. Why is it that it only applies to Jay...and can't apply to everyone else? Nevertheless, I think the real reason you're dismissing Em is because you know if we compare their careers, side by side, Jay will lose. No matter the circumstances that surround each artist's success, Em has had the better career. And that's a fact.

And secondly, what makes Hov's catalog better than Nas'? You're getting into subjective territory here. If I said I think Nas has a better catalog, then what? Where do we go from here? Just because Jay has four critically acclaimed albums (and he isn't the only one)...what does that mean to me? If I don't like it, then it's not a classic to me. Period.

You really need to stop deepthroating Jay's dick. It's suspect.

When 2pac was around, Jay couldnt get any shine.....why? Cuz the star of 2pac was too bright for Hov. Jay-Z has had more than a decade to outsell 2pac and he still can't do it???? COME ON SON!!! In 1996, Pac had already sold roughly 10 million or more albums. In 1996, Jay-Z had sold.....gold? I love Jay but he will never in his life compare to Pac....it's just not going to happen. Jay has had a LOOOOOOONG time to be better than 2pac.....the masses still believe 2pac is the greatest. Check out Misterpoll.com if you don't believe me.

It cannot apply to Marshall because he has an unfair advantage over every other black artist. When analyzing Eminem's commercial accomplishments, you have to take into consideration that he is a white rapper releasing music in a white-majority country.

"Look at my sales, let's do the math

If I was black, I would've sold half
"

--Eminem, White America, 2002.

Pac is good, but Hov is and always will be that little bit better.

The people named Hov the greatest MC of all time.

That "white" argument wouldn't work for other artists that have outsold Jay at some point...like Pac, Biggie, 50 Cent, DMX, etc.

Jay's advantage is that he releases albums so frequently. So if you add the sales of all of his 11 studio albums, it would seem like an impressive numbers, excluding the fact that he has so many albums. But 50 million worldwide is not all that impressive, considering 50 is pushing like 40 million worldwide, from just four studio albums...compared to Jay's 11.

Now, imagine if 50 had 7 more albums to his name...

If any black rapper sells more than Hov, then I will admit it. No doubt. But Marshall got a head-start over everyone because of his color.
Tupac has sold more than Hov, I'm not sure about Biggie or DMX though.

What does this prove, though?

Pac has topped lists like these...not only from MTV, but other publications, too.

So has Em.

This proves that Hov has a claim to GOAT status.
