Churches are not exempt from paying loans. Plus black churches have been a major problem in the black community. It's a billion dollar business, and none of that money has gone into increasing economics for black people.

One would think that a "black bank" would would be more willing to to work with a historic black church rather than foreclose on it....

& just because you dont like the church or approve of its ability to "increase economics for black folks".......

Does not change the fact that the black church was and continues to be an integral part of the community.......

If these "black banks" are not protecting our communities then they are no different than white predatory lenders......

The fight between two prominent black Boston institutions erupted more than two years ago, when OneUnited threatened to auction off the Roxbury church because Charles Street had fallen behind on another loan. OneUnited had loaned the church $3.3 million in 2006 to build a nearby community center, and Charles Street struggled to repay the loan during the financial crisis.

But the bank continued to take a hard line, by casually raising the idea of Charles Street’s merging with another nearby African Methodist Episcopal church, or leasing back its own church space.

“That’s offensive,’’ said Charles Dale, a lawyer for the regional church of which Charles Street is a part, the First Episcopal District of Philadelphia.

Opened up two accts with two different banks One United and First Legacy here in Charlotte. Dropped some money in there and have a recurring deposit going into each bank bi-weekly. It's funny that a thread like this would be made but the old white established banks have been fucking you/us over for years and not one thing said.

We (black people) fall short to finanial power but Jews,Asians, Hispanics and others are already doing what we are just now doing in 2016. Why are we so quick to shoot down an attempt to better us as a whole? Yes they are. I've never seen any church do anything to improve economics. The suckers give the money and exchange for prayers. If we're going improve our economic standing, we have to look at the problems, and the church has definitely been a problem.

Churches are not exempt from paying loans. Plus black churches have been a major problem in the black community. It's a billion dollar business, and none of that money has gone into increasing economics for black people.

One would think that a "black bank" would would be more willing to to work with a historic black church rather than foreclose on it....

& just because you dont like the church or approve of its ability to "increase economics for black folks".......

Yes they are. I've never seen any church do anything to improve economics. The suckers give the money and exchange for prayers. If we're going improve our economic standing, we have to look at the problems, and the church has definitely been a problem.

our economy is weak
