I'm looking to team up with a producer in michigan around Detroit.. I need some soul full fire

i think you may be looking in the wrong place..especially if youre in the D right now. Its hella producers around. Start with twitter or something, or go out. There's always events with local talent there.

Thinking about picking this bad boy up. Anybody mess with Maschine? I'm hearing good things about their 2.0 software update and the stock sounds it comes with.

It was aiight. Long ass instrumental tho. I think after 3/4th way thru the first verse, the listener had gotten the gist of what to expect. But honestly, that bass synth didn't fit well into the mix. And I'm listening from my phone. But everything else was straight.

Thanks for listening... I feel what you're saying... I think it was @G.Avant who said he views his beats like scores for movies... I share a similar aesthetic except I use elements from movies and my compositions are inspired by rock music... The intro is super long to emphasize how the bass synth clashes with the live instrumentation before they are brought together harmoniously in the hook... The verses are short to emphasize the hook, but I strive for progression so the first verse is slightly different from the second, the second from the third... I'm not really thinking about how someone is going to spit over it, but I feel like that would motivate an emcee to get more creative with how to approach it...

It's cool to see niggas still make beat recreationally. Idky. But it's an energy I get from hearing everybody shit. Whether it's my speed or not. Props to you motherfuckers.

Any of yall trying to go for real with this shit cause I am. Starting to get real good with this FL Studio from these tutorials and learning how to get the sound I'm actually lookin for. Thats always been my problem, coming up with concepts aint nothing.

been tryin to for a long time now, but i still feel like im gettin better/learning my sound, ion know if i have my own unique sound but i think im gettin closer every day, just need to get my ethic back to where it was a few years ago even tho i enjoy taking my time on beats

my fellow beatmakers/producers, i need yall to lend me ur ears.

this is a result of studying the mixing and mastering tutorials i posted on the last page in this thread, i went back and did more extensive eq'ing on a beat(before hand i just used the basic 3 band eq on the mixer on a few sounds i thought needed it) and also tried my hand at mastering, i think i got a good sounding mix and master but i need opinions from others, i wanna know what yall think of the beat but moreso, what yall think of the mix, sho preciate it if u can.

one version is my normal mix, another is one i tried better eq'ing and another is one i tried to master, lemme know which has the best quality, clarity, and bump etc

My 0.02

The beat is really good. My favorite was the second one

The one with EQ sounded more polished IMO, although i will say that you could probably boost the mids just to make the sound more fuller and maybe get rid any stray low frequencies in your non bass parts to clear up more room for the 808 (you don't need to necessarily make the 808 louder)
