So I was updating my film rental list yesterday and I went through my watched and returned list dating back to 2011. ..I don't even remember watching half of these shits. LOL

And I've listed some of these titles here

Got over a 150 discs on my waiting list though and due to work and commitments I hardly ever get the time to settle and watch movies like that...

What made you check out the films you watched in the first place? Like was the majority of them recommendations, or just a number of other reasons?

I have to say i've seen maybe 80% of that list myself (and own physically probably half of that), so it's rare to see someone who has pretty much the exact kind of variety i like to have,I'd offer some recommendations but since you have 150 queued up i don't think i need to lol.

Some great films in there (Nil By Mouth, Sightseers,The Hunt, Searching For Sugarman are my picks amongst others), but i's sitting here struggling to recall a lot of them myself, I picked up that 'Love' movie recently on blu-ray on a random one and watched it last week, visually really impressive but i couldn't tell you a single thing about the plot if you asked me now.

A lot of the films on there are foreign made mostly European and low budget... so yeah that's my preference when it comes to film

I wouldn't mind any recommendations though...

You ever seriously thought about becoming a film critic? You would do a great job and the industry needs diverse critics in today's market.

Jus binged the 1st 6 eps of TNT's Animal Kingdom. TNT can be pretty hit or miss. But the trailer looked solid. First couple episodes are so so. But it picks up around ep 4 along with a couple twists n turns I didnt see coming. Overall shits pretty good. Fun watch.

I been catching up on Suits, I'm starting season 5. And this Donna shit is getting old, these niggas do high level cases and sitting here having a war over a damn secretary. Other than that though, this season been good as they usually are.

I like how Rachel's dad has been featured more, strong black male character is dope to see. Especially after watching Harvey just steam roll over damn near everybody.

Just caught the midnight showing of lights out at a theater in philly, mostly black folks in that hoe cutting up at how the little boy had more common sense than all the damn adults

Just came back from seeing this.

Thought it was pretty good.

Jack Goes Boating - directed by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman about 2 New York couples and bonding issues. It's based on a play of the same name.

The Living Daylights - Bond15 starring Timothy Dalton as agent 007. Very 80s camp. Dalton was a good Bond just a bit understated. The whole US vs Soviet Union vs Taliban in Afghanistan was highlighted in this film. Ironic since the after effects of the Cold War in that region have brought about instability today...

Training Day - I see GIFS. of this film on this forum on a daily basis and I saw it again a couple nights ago on TV. Denzel as well as perfectly executing this narcissistic character was hilarious too in the role. It's not a coincidence his performance actually carries the film

A Most Violent Year - set in New York City, 1981 (which according to records is the most violent in it's history in terms of crime) it stars Oscar Isaac as an entrepreneur running a gasoline business but has his lorries ambushed by thugs on a daily basis...

I got a vibe from some who watched the film that it was boring. I see how but I liked the twist at the end of the movie. Isaac put in a cool performance too. A slow burner indeed...

This show funny as hell. It has a lot of heart too (probly cuz it has female leads lol), which I like. Each season only has 6 episodes so it's easy to run though.

Man Up starring Lake Bell and Simon Pegg. It's about a single 34 year old woman who hasn't been in a relationship in 4 years who accidentally steals another woman's blind date. It's decent enough and on Netflix. 6/10.

Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson | PBS

i've seen this before, but re watched over the weekend... such a good ass documentary. its two parts. The rise then the fall of Jack Johnson..narrated by James Earl Jones & Samuel L Jackson, and others. this shit is nearly 4 hours long. but worth the watch

for those who dont know. Jack Johnson was the first black heavyweight champion.. and to say white people put him through some shit would be an understatement. White fighters constantly ducked him claiming the color line, where whites wouldn't fight blacks... then he got the belt and beat every white fighter they put in front of him. starting the search for the "great white hope". then since they couldnt beat him in the ring. the FBI CREATED LAWS just to get him. IMO this was Muhammad Ali. BEFORE Muhammad Ali

the craziest thing about this doc to me though... is when they read articles and show newspaper clippings from newspapers back then. I'm talking La times NY times, major newspapers. hearing/seeing some of the things being said about him... shit is insane and reflective to some of the things we have going on to this very day a century later. add this to your collection!

Sounds nuts. I don't know much about jack johnson, but I knew he was a champion back in the early 1900s or earlier. Couldn't imagine that being easy because of that time period and how shady the boxing business is already. He's a character in one of the comics I read tho and they put a little bit of his history in it haha. Im gonna check that out

check it out Lou... he was the best fighter alive .. he did some time in prison and was hated... and his only real "infraction" was the fact that he openly dated white women.. (were talking early 1900-1910) ad that to the fact that he wouldn't lose in the ring... the government made this man a priority to take down.

THIS FULL DOC USED TO BE ON YOU TUBE... but i dont see THIS one for free (you can buy it $5, still worth it IMO) on there anymore. There are others but to me this one shows everything.. we all internet nerds so i know the full doc can be found.

if anyone needs the link for the torrent PM me, ill send it

Dope, i love me a good boxing story. Definitely one of the most interesting sports ever. From the fighters and their lives, to how the business is actually ran and all of the political and crime influence in it. Boxing industry is crazy.

Theres another good boxing documentary on netflix called "Chasing Tyson". It focuses mainly on Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. How they both came up very differently and were supposed to have a fight when they were both in their primes, but then Tyson got put in prison for his rape charge. While in prison holyfield had some fights and anticipation was lost for Tyson vs Holyfield. When Tyson got out, he did a fight or two and was back in the boxing spotlight and holyfield was thought to have no chance in hell at winning and no one was really too interested in the fight but it happened anyway. Then Holyfield trained his ass off and won the fight.

Holyfield seems like a cool dude. Grew up dirt poor in a racist ass area. Always kept a positive attitude and trained his ass off. Got ripped off in the olympics possibly due to a racial thing (the person he lost against because of disqualification was even shocked and disappointed in holyfield losing) and overcame several other obstacles. Definitely worth checking out for fans of boxing @JusDre313

You mean Evan Fields right???...waits to see if anyone gets the joke.

Me, earl and the dying girl...

Shit pulled a fast one on me. I wasn't prepared.

Good movie. Dope visuals. 8/10

The invitation

Caught it on Netflix. Is about this guy that gets invited to his ex wife and new man's house for a dinner party with their old friends. Weird shit starts happening.

so umm...my real nigga senses wouldn't have allowed me to go to some shit like that in the first place, let alone stay and ki-ki when I found out the hosts was in a cult. Movie woulda been a vine clip if it were me.

The last 20 mins was cool tho.
