Gonna see this on Wednesday. No bad reviews so far and Cuaron the director is very good and visionary.. .

I saw Spring Breakers on DVD via rental and I was just SMH at the whole film.

"Look at my shit!!!"

right.

The To Do List - thought this was going to be more of a chick flick then it was, would recommend it for the cast.Aubrey Plaza makes a list of sex thangs she wants to get done before heading off to college, cue her unleashing her inner slut and making a real go of it.the 90's setting, freshens it up a bit plus Rachel Bilson plays her older sister, there's a nice scene where shes doing squats for all the perverts out there.

Manhunter - making my way through 80's flicks at the moment and this was next, the soundtrack hasn't aged well but aside from that i thought it was pretty superb.based on thomas harris's red dragon novel, dare i say i enjoyed this more than silence of the lambs,Tom Noonan was a heck of a tooth fairy, scary dude to look at n/h.can't even remember the last time michael mann made a decent flick, the look of this film is way ahead of it's time.

The Jones's - Demi Moore,David Duchovny,Amber Heard (good laaaaaawd) and some dude i've never seen before play a make up family who are basically a sales team, moving into neighborhoods and trying to impose their lifestyles on them so they can make sales.you get the idea this would have probably worked better as a tv show or having a tighter script, the idea's are there but just not executed right.

2 Guns - Paula Patton gets her tits out.

New World - One of the best film's i've seen recently, this is why i love korean cinema...unearthing a gem like this every once in a while makes it worth the while.A simple cops vs robbers story at heart, when a crime syndicate loses its head there are 3 main candidates in line to replace him...one of them being a undercover cop who's loyalty is divided.from there the greed and manipulation between all factions starts to evolve and well...if that initial premise interests you i'd say dig it out if you can.the violence in this film is seriously brutal, but it is more of a character drama more than anything else.i read there's an american remake in the works,if they get the components right then your looking at something potentially awesome.

oh and theres a great in joke paying dues to Oldboy as well.

Gravity - I don't throw the term masterpiece around lightly but this film is up there.see it on the biggest screen you possibly can because this movie is just crafted as a pure cinematic experience.easily movie of the year for me,and a betting man would put his money on Bullock right now for that oscar.

A Company Man. Good movie. Loved the action in it. Reminded me of the Bourne movies. Corporate hitman wants out, yada yada.

New World. Korean movies always seem more violent with all the pipes and knives they use in fights instead of guns. Good stuff. Great organized crime movie.

All Star Superman. Ultimate Avengers: The Movie. Both were trash.

Justice League: Doom. Enjoyed it outside of goofy GL and WW's villain. Doesn't hold up against the show though, and it felt like they just tossed together stories they'd already done better in JL/Unlimited.

The Guillotines. Made it about thirty minutes into the movie before I gave up. Excessive slo-mo ruined it. And a text scroll ala star wars to start things off? ...

this...I had never seen this Nolan film before and I had always wanted too so I downloaded it and took the time to watch it, it was pretty good Pacino did his thing and Robin Williams was great in this..

I also watch Elysium...dope movie lots of action really enjoyed it.

Caught a 1986 movie called River's Edge on one of the movie channels. The description looked interesting and it was loosely based on a true story, had a 87% Rotten Tomato rating plus had a good cast with Crispin Glover, Dennis Hopper, & a hella young Keanu Reeves in one of his first roles. Shit was just weird especially Crispin Glover's character not to mention how annoying he was. I guess it just hasn't aged well.

(GRADE = C -) "Evil Dead" is the reboot/remake of the original cult classic directed by Sam Rami, this time he's the producer on the remake. Overall it followed the same concept, some young adults to go a house in the woods and one of them decides to do what an evil book tells him not to. Well some spirits shows up and hell breaks loose. The original of course had more humor, this one was trying to take itself too seriously. Overall it was a decent remake and nowhere near the original.

(GRADE = A CLASSIC)

Just as we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of his father's passing. Sadly it's the 20th Anniversary of Brandon Lee's death. I'm not going to get into any conspiracy theories but both his father and his death never sat well with me. Anyways, Brandon was really on his way to be a huge Star. He had recently stared in "Rapid Fire" and was really starting to blow. Sadly "The Crow" would be his final film. Directed by Alex Proyas who made the cult Classic "Dark City" as well as directing "I, Robot" and "Knowing" brings you this supernatural action triller staring Brandon Lee. When a man and his girlfriend are murdered.

His spirit manages to come back and right the wrongs. The movie is bittersweet cause we knew Brandon was gone but his performance was great in this. Love the visual style and action. The errie part is watching the scene you know Brandon got shot in. I saw this film when I was a young teenager and it still holds up all these years later. All the sequels ended up sucking cause Brandon died. This was a great comic book adaptation and Heath Ledgers Legendary performance as The Joker definitely was influenced by Brandon's Crow portrayal, imo.

(GRADE = A) "Gravity" is the sci-fi space thriller Directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Who directed Harry Potter 3 and Children of Man) and it stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as two space station repair astronauts. While working on a space station they are informed by Nasa that a meteor shower debris has been destroying other space stations. Before they know it they are confronted with the situation of being out in space with no one to help or call. "Gravity" was an amazing film. It made space terrifying and beautiful at the same time. Sandra Bullock pulled it off like Will did in "I am Legend" and Tom in "Castaway".

You were with her every step of the way. Clooney did great in a limited role as the older wise statesman on the mission. I loved how the movie wasted no time and got right into the story. It was only an hour and half so it moved fast but you were there. I expect this film to get some award consideration. Visually it was amazing and acting wise it was great. It was great cause it put the whole idea of "Gravity" and forced the audience to understand the actual feeling of being in zero gravity. Overall I don't give out "A" often but this was top notch. Give it 10 years, this film will age very well.

world war z the first half of the movie was solid. the new jersey stairwell scene made me jump on the inside it started to get a little predictable when they made it to the research center . over all I give it a solid B+

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

It had it's funny moments mostly when Jim Carrey came into it, the ending had me dying with laughter, well worth the watch just for the ending alone, I give it a 6.5/10

Planet Hulk. I think I'm just not an Avengers guy. Didn't enjoy it at all.

Open City. Nice looking lead that kept me in it for awhile. Lot of drawn out histories. Reveals in the last 30 minutes. Actually forgot what it's about aside from pickpocket rings. Am gonna watch Art of Seduction just off YeJin Son though.

The King of the Streets. Terrible. Maybe three decent fights in the whole thing. Not worth sitting through though.

Batman: Under the Red Hood. Man. Robin got treated to a good one. Voices took some getting used to, but I liked it.

Leverage Season 5. Great stuff.

Batman/Superman: Apocalypse. It was okay. Felt really rushed though. Like netflix threw up a miniseries and chopped a few minutes off to make it into a movie.

PotC: Curse of the Black Pearl. Wasn't worth the rewatch. Fell asleep a little under an hour in. Just got bored.

solid "who done it/murder mystery" imo. the lead up to the eventual reveal of the killer was cool. It had me guessin the whole time. but when the killer is finally revealed, it fell flat imo. it wasn't a satisfying end result. it left sayin "really tho?"

movie is way to long btw. 2 and a half hours.

but if your a fan of murder mysteries. and have 2 1/2 hrs to spare give it a watch.
