I do beleive this would make some money but it wouldn't have any effect on diversity in Hollywood because Hollywood ain't real in regards to showing people of color as a super hero or in non-coonery form.

The only way we are gonna see all BlacC cast is if we produce them ourselves. NO IFS or ANDS about it.

This is an all black cast, but I see what you saying. Aaron Mcruder( from the Boondocks) is one of the two writing for it too. You got to start of somewhere you feel me.

I don't really think it will affect diversity. I don't know the exact percentage but isn't it something like 1% of all actors actually "make it". And by sheer numbers, white people far outweigh black people (in hollywood) who pursue acting. That's not to say there isn't alot of black actors, but for every black one I would say there's atleast 5 white people trying to get their foot in the door. So we will always be outnumbered. Then you take out the people who just can't act, and that doesn't leave many. Hell there's only about 12 people max out of everyone who are the golden boys /girls of Hollywood and 2 of them are black so that's about right to me.

Anyway if you're talking about George Lucas, it's cuz he likes the chocolate bunnies. His wife, gf maybe, is black. I really don't see anything wrong with it. I mean Spielberg did Color Purple. John Landis did Coming to America I believe. And Kelsey Grammer produced Girlfriends. You can't get any whiter than him. So whatever. However you can get it released, then do it that way. Better that than nothing.

We used to have black movies in the 90s. But the last 10 years or so, most of the high budget films were superhero flicks, which are 99% white. SMH @ the lack of young black actors and the lack of support these black films be getting. All we have left is straight to DVD films and Tyler Perry.

are saying that there is a lack of good actors and thats why hollywood doesn't support black movies?
explain why the UK can have diverse casts...

Nope that's not what I'm saying.. And I wouldn't know why UK has diverse casts. DIversity does not equal talent. It equals diversity so I'm not seeing what connection you're making.

Well you said "lack of good actors" so that's where talent came in at, because I equate talent in acting to being a good actor
And okey dokey at the rest :)

lol...what? so they reason why there aren't many films with predominately black casts is because there's a shortage of capable black actors?

A Morris Chestnut is a capable actor. But he's not a Denzel Washington. So is there a shortage of "capable" black actors? I would say no. Really good ones? Yes. But that's not just applicable to Blacks, that's everyone. Hence the reason why the same 4 or 5 WHITE actors are mentioned whenever anyone asks who's on your list of favorite actors.

You gotta realize too, that movie making is a money business no matter who it is. If Black movies don't consistently turn a profit, they are going to be hard to finance by major studios. I go to see predominately Black if not all Black movies, and the vast majority of the audience is white. I finally cracked and went to see Madea's Big Happy Family and there were almost no black people besides myself. Same happened with Norbit. Alot of Black people will buy the bootleg instead of spending the money where it counts. How many times do you get approached by a Black guy selling all the latest DVD's on your way to the swap meet? It's simple supply and demand. Get some black butts in the seats and I bet you the scenario will change real quick.

The bottom line is, if it makes money it will get made...and there's certain types of films that black audiences typically don't support in large numbers...if I'm running a business, why would I constantly put out a product I know will not make me any money? Just so people can say "You're not racist"...oh Cali is right, there's a shortage of good actors in general...

I think people need to come to grips that white people don't identify or care about the black experience outside of hiphop, and at this point hiphop is a caricature of itself and broad generalization. They see a movie with more than one black actor, they automatically label it a black movie. Even Will Smith has to cast Hispanic or white women as his lead to not to scare off the movie audience, they cast someone safe and culturally ambiguous like Eva Mendes or Rosario Dawson.

Fucked up shit is blacks, Asians, and Hispanics are opened minded to see their movies and their experiences.
