My guess is that flash somehow altered a timeline where he killed his partners brother making him want to become a detective that hates metahumans. He doesn't have powers yet but he will eventually get powers from the Savitar incident turning him into Godspeed. Savitar is a speed demon from another timeline where Wally West is flash.

wait a fucking minute. I missed the show last night and they didn't even have this episode on the ps store.what is going on here? who the hell is savitar or god speed? they only had that monster episode on ps store and I missed that episode also.

Actually I have read an own many of Flash comics and he has other Rogues who are not speedsters. In 3 seasons we have 3 main villains who are speedsters. You have to switch the formula up or it gets redundant. It's one thing if the story is done well but as you saw how Zoom's arc went, the creators had no idea what they were doing

At the same time, the main villain being a speedster wasn't the problem. And while I'm not well versed in Flash lore, I'm sure none of his rogues poses as big of a threat as fellow speedsters.
