You could/should have posted excerpts from this article to prove a point, and stir up some good discussion...
you know what I did but then the IC logged me out for some reason and I lost it all!
Basically the way I see it is 50's underlying agenda was to see the dissolvement of Murder Inc and Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff. If you believe the rumors about Supreme's involvement with 50's mother plus being behind his infamous shooting, then it makes sense.
And what better way to stop the money laundering then to stop the cashcow and figurehead which is Ja Rule.
Ja Rule's biggest mistake was trying to go to war with everyone and not having the ammunition or manpower. 1) He ain't no street battle rapper, so his portrayal of one was transparent. 2) No rapper was on his side @ the time. 50 had Dre, Em, d12, G-Unit, Obie etc from that camp who were all selling units and riding with him. Add the likes of DMX, Busta & even Common (lol) - Ja Rule never stood a chance. This is from a music perspective.
Going back to Murder Inc, having to rebrand themselves in 2003/2004 to shake off the negativity also had an effect. 50 had just dropped one of the highest anticipated albums (GWODT) earlier that yr so the momentum was with him and not with those opposing him. It was almost like the changing of the guard you could say, as 50 would later go on to do the same music formula that Ja did.
Overall tho Ja Rule's career ended because of Ja Rule pure and simple.
Beefing with everyone and not making consistent hits =
L.
But at the same time to say 50 and the G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath army behind him didn't have an impact in Ja's demise is foolish.
