i would have completely understood if montero would have asked arrieta in the dugout if he could possibly at least consider holding someone on (arrieta does suck doing that) but there is no point in doing it publicly

i think he also was stung by some criticism he was receiving in the national media for not being able to throw anyone out this season — this does add to my feeling that things on the field have looked really bad compared to last season and i think there must be some stuff going on in the clubhouse that is hurting the team

@bilfiger what do you think the cubs should do with wade davis if they continue to be average near the deadline?

Trade him to the highest bidder like the yankees did with chapman, edwards can close for the cubs.Nationals need a closer too

Last year everything went right fowlers hamstring and tls refusing to report to triple a were the only issues.

This year hendricks,heyward,zobrist all been injured.Schwarber struggled,russell been injured/struggling/distracted,pitching has regressed.Cubs have used like 6-7 lead off hitters.They aren't gonna go on some magical run unless the pitching locks in and that ain't happening.Get humbled,rest/reload this winter come back hungry next year.

And Kris Bryant started off great but he's been struggling in june,last night he caught a pop up in foul territory and rolled his ankle on the 3rd base bag and had to be helped off the field he couldn't put no weight on it.He probably gonna have to go on the dl too

The positives are happ(after re adjusting) Baez,contreras & edwards been solid.

the story of the 2017 cubs so far is that good feelings are quickly followed by bad feelings

i was thinking the same thing too

if the cubs can get good value for davis and theyre still around .500 at the end of july they should really look to move him

it gives you long term asset(s) for a rental pitcher and it gives carl edwards a shot at closing big games

Also get hector rondon and john lackey off this team.I can't stand when either are on the mound they both suck

Last year when contreras 1st started catching like his 2nd or 3rd start as catcher in mlb, he tried to walk to the mound to talk to lackey and lackey gonna point to him to go back.On some don't be coming out here to talk to me, he embarrassed conteras doin that.That along with lackey screamin at baez for an error in the playoffs never sat right with me.I can't wait til he's gone he's done anyway with his multiple hr's allowed every start

mike montgomery has been solid since starting

they need to keep him in the rotation when hendricks returns

id get rid of the batting coach too though

i will never be able to figure out how the cubs were able to get clutch hits in the 10th inning of game 7 of the world series

im still convinced the indians win the world series if they dont intentionally walk anthony rizzo to get to zobrist

the past two weeks really have been disastrous with never ending injuries

their top position and their top pitching prospects are also out until at least spring training

Thursday cubs come back down 2 bottom of the 9th wit 2 outs vs the nationals.Looks like a potentially season changing win

Next day get shut out by scott feldman and the reds.Cubs are ranked 29th in ba and dead last in hitting wit risp

Last year everything definitely clicked.This team is still young and will be better going forward, but this year there's been a lot of regression and injuries across the board.

Bryant back in the line up which is a surprise he looked like he was gonna be out a month
