The Yankees announced devastating news regarding their top prospect, Gleyber Torres, as the highly touted young infielder has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left (non-throwing) elbow and will require Tommy John surgery. Torres will miss the remainder of the 2017 season, though the Yankees note that they expect him to be ready for Spring Training 2018. (Recovery from Tommy John is typically shorter for position players than it is for pitchers.)

KTLA plans on airing more free games this year. I got Spectrum just for the Dodgers. I see all the games that i don't actually attend in person. B) Direct tv will break down and pay for SportsNet LA when the Dodgers win them diamonds this year. B)

people forget that the 2001-2006 astros were largely built off a fluke offseason in 2000 where due to injury they lost 95 games and traded pieces off which ended up being major pieces of those teams

Addison Russell's wife has filed for divorce nearly two weeks after the Chicago Cubs shortstop was accused of hitting her.

Melisa Reidy-Russell filed the divorce petition in Cook County last week, according to a filing provided by her attorney, Thomas T. Field, on Wednesday. She is seeking full custody of the couple's young son along with child and other support.

Field told The Associated Press that Reidy-Russell has decided not to talk with Major League Baseball about its ongoing review because it's not in the best interest of her family.

''They made an invitation to have her come and talk to them and she's declined the invitation,'' Field said.

if the cubs were cruising with a big division lead like they were at this time last year they couldve carried schwarbers .174 but with the season almost half over
