The kid Bryant didn't turn out to be the "Natural Bust" like I said a few years ago, even though it was a joke, he aight. I still prefer Addison Russell over Bryant.

i thought you caught one in the head

that first dude that got shot in a driveby was probably pissed but still had to give it up like goddamn that was innovative

Nah, not me, thankfully. They wild, I go about my business and stay out the way

I'mma need Tim Anderson to start playing like he's worth that new money, batting average at the Mendoza Line and lackadaisical plays can't keep happening from a supposed franchise cornerstone, and for Carlos Rodon to stay healthy

I think Aaron Judge might be my new favorite power hitter at the moment

Rondon just gave up a 2-0 lead with 2 outs on a 3 run HR to Brett fuckin' Gardener

among the 24 major league qualifying shortstops tim anderson fielding percentage ranks dead last and his BA/OBP/SLG somewhere in the 20s

if he hadnt just been inked to a long term deal id suggest he needs a trip to charlotte to work on his game

but now i dont know

Man, Anderson struggling out there, I'm still pulling for dude because he's black, a homegrown draft pick, and it's just something about SS that I fuck with, that's why I like Addison Russell.

But they gotta' get Ashy Cody off the team, dude batting like .098 or some shit. Cody Asche definitely is a AAA player.

Quintana took another L, even though he ain't get no run support as usual, he 2-5.

Renteria got tossed today, this was his face when reporters was interviewing post game

I read an article on Bleacher Report today about

Each MLB Team's Prospect Who Has Earned a Big League Call-Up. Yeah, Yoan Moncada is ready

It'd be nice if the Cubs and White Sox could work out a deal to benefit both squads centered around a Quintana trade, but that ain't gonna' happen. I'd love to see Schwarber and Baez on the South Side

i think rick hahn would make a deal with the cubs

not sure he would have the final word about a trade with the cubs though

They should start moving dudes like Frazier, Robertson, Cabrera, Petricka, Jones, Putnam, Quintana been on the trade block, before someone gets injured

im not concerned with Q value going down because new trade partners may emerge over time that may be more desperate + not concerned about pending FAs either

any of Qs caliber will sign for three times the yearly salary and twice as long of a contract

he will still be a one of a kind acquisition

but word the rest gotta go asap before they get hurt like nate jones

i wouldnt get too attached to happ

i think hes going to be a big trade chip and as long as he goes in a trade that brings back a quality SP that has team control for more than just this season that is exactly why the cubs stocked up on prospects

to be able to trade to fill needs when they are competing

Nah happ stays jimenez can go in that scenario.

Happ can play multiple positions, switch hit and has a good eye he would fit in seamlessly in the line up and he can lead off.Happ can replace zobrist who will be 36 in few weeks and needs more rest and will play less eventually.I heard happ was damn near untouchable he's valued like schwarber was.

too bad zobrist isnt a FA after this year

happ could step right into the switch hitting super sub role but with zobrist on the roster for 2 more years after this one and with happ looking to be possibly big league ready sometime this summer some in the organization might think it he makes more sense as a premium trade chip

cubs are already sitting one or two guys that need playing time to develop (baize, almora) or established veterans (heyward, zobrist) every day so theres not much room to add another player into that mix and for developmental purposes youre not calling up hap to start twice a week

teams will definitely be targeting him

Ben Zobrist has two more years left after this one, and he’s coming off winning the World Series MVP. While the Cubs would unlikely have a starting role for Happ, they didn’t have one for Baez either. If the Cubs went the route of replacing La Stella and Szczur, Happ could bide his time until Zobrist’s deal is up. Some might say if he’s not getting everyday at-bats it isn’t worth calling him up. But by September of this year, Happ should have accrued quite a few Triple-A at-bats.Should the Cubs choose to call him up for a stretch run, he could be a valuable bench player for this team. And there’s plenty of worth in a solid bench player. The Cubs could still part with talent to acquire pitching at the deadline, but that trade shouldn’t involve Happ. He needs to get his shot in Chicago.

Sczur got dfa and la stella in triple a,happ can take either one of their spots and move around like baez does.Zobrist can be traded in the last year of his contract.

Cubs can trade jimenez & canderlario for that cost controlled starter + they will have dough to spend on pitching this winter(pipe dream darvish and otani).Their pitching prospects(cease,de la cruz, clifton, maybe albertos) should be ready by 2019.I wouldn't trade happ

i wouldnt either

theres questions about his ability to be a plus second basemen so he could be tagged for an outfield role long term but i love his versatility

a LH plus hitter that has shown some pop

if jiminez/cease/candelario all keep showing really well by the trade deadline thats a big part of a deal for a chris archer type
