If me & you didn't post in this thread it would barely get 2 pages for the whole season.This forum sucks now

I know baseball is considered slow and boring and for older people but it Use to be baseball heads on here.I was reading old mlb threads from like 3-4 years ago there use to be way more posters

yeah ive noticed that

it used to be a lot more people in the baseball thread when i first signed up

Please don't let baez get injured in the useless wbc.Last couple spring trainings baez got injured

Jammed wrist,sprained finger gets clocked in the head with a foul ball etc his value to the cubs is too important

Saw theo say schwarber will catch like 20 games this year

yeah itd be good to see baez come out of spring training healthy this year

something he didnt manage in either of the last two seasons and the death of his sister in 15 didnt help anything either

i just have the feeling that after his coming out party in the nlcs hes going to have a real break out season

3 concerns heading into camp would be

1. will schwarber bounce back from injury and thrive in the leadoff role (fowlers presence will be deeply missed)

2. can heyward recover from a disastrous 2016 season

3. what they will get out of montgomery/anderson in the 5th starter role

barring decimation by injuries though i think the cubs will win 100 games again this year

theyre trying to make swihart a full time catcher after playing left last year

they say its not anything serious right now but they removed him and had him throwing in a private bullpen session

probably so he wont hit anybody with an errant throw

Yea I think baez gonna kill it this year if he stays healthy.Outside the world series where he clearly was trying to do too much he was real good at the plate in the playoffs he showed the ability to have discipline/wait for his pitch several ab's in the nlds/nlcs for the most part.Zobrist even acknowledge baez should play 2b more.

I think heyward will be straight he been working on his swing since december.I believe he'll bounce back or I hope he does,cuz the cubs won't miss fowler if he does.

Glad the cubs let hammell walk he sucked.I think he benefited from the defense more than any pitcher on the staff and his fa market was non existent he only got signed cuz of the ventura situation

I thought betances was like 24-25 cuz he only been in the big leagues a few years.Didn't realize he'll be 29 next month

I read he plays outfield too.Toles,Pederson,Eithier,puig & potentially verdugo are all outfielders who could be on the opening day roster and gonzalez is at 1b.Bellinger gonna have to take someone spot(gonzalez isnt an option not this season at least)
