The Marlins have a “handshake agreement” in place to sell the team to a New York-based real estate developer for the price of $1.6 billion, reports Mike Ozanian of Forbes. Ozanian cites two anonymous sources that claim to have been told by Marlins president David Samson that the deal is in place. The $1.6 billion price tag would be more than 10 times the $158MM price at which owner Jeffrey Loria purchased the team back in 2002.

since arriving he has seemed more concerned about his legacy than anything else

mlb is also proposing changes to the strike zone and intentional walk rules
theres a decent chance that the intentional walk rule passes but i cant see the strike zone shrinking -- the mlbpa needs to approve the changes and considering half the players are pitchers good luck convincing them that there should be a smaller strike zone -- wanting to raise the strike zone is just another desperate attempt to try to make the game accessible to people who arent going to watch anyway
