Saw the dodgers were willing to give up de leon for brian dozier.I know they need an upgrade a 2b and help vs lefties but I wouldn't make that trade, dozier isn't worth that imo.

Heard the Twins wanted Cody Bellinger also with De Leon. HELL NO!!!! Dodgers could use that power from Dozier but that trade is lopsided in the Twins favor. Besides, i'm not sure Dozier would hit that many homers in the NL. And he will be a free agent after 2018. Dodgers could lose him and have gave up some great prospects in return. Lets see what the youngin Micah Johnson can do. They could always keep Utley for a backup for Johnson.

Dozier was good vs lefties good last year .282/352/613 and has been solid vs lefties for his career. The dodgers were the either the worst or 2nd worst hitting team vs lefty pitchers last season so that's why they are considering it.They need an upgrade at 2b and the farm is pretty stacked so it wouldn't hurt them to trade de leon + his upside isn't as high as urias so I change my stance on not trading him.No way would Bellinger be included

Kinsler would be a better upgrade than dozier tho

Dozier can hit lefties but one good hitter vs lefties imo does not fix the Dodgers problem. Teams would just pitch around him. I like Kinsler too but his age scares me long term. I have no issue with the trade if it's just De Leon and someone else but when I read they wanted Bellinger also I wasn't feeling it.

i wonder if it is good or bad that the twins have been primarily linked to one team in talks over dozier

there are so many ways to read that

a. the dodgers mad such a strong initial offer that no other teams are willing to meet that price

b. the twins ‘picked’ the dodgers because the dodgers have a player or players that the twins really want

c. there wasnt as much interest in dozier and the dodgers are the only team that have legit interest

d. the twins are actually talking to quite a few teams on the low but using the dodgers as a smokescreen

it will be interesting to see how this actually plays out and if dozier will get dealt before the beginning of the season -- if im the twins im motivated to trade now because his trade value will never be higher and the twins suck -- dozier has been historically streaky which makes waiting to move him at the trade deadline somewhat risky

i still cant believe the year he had

FO too

if they want to keep their best prospects then why would they even call

smh

i knew a deal wouldnt get done because the yankees declined to put quintana on their 40 man roster several years back so to give up the farm for someone they let go would be a bad look

a big market team with a top farm system is the most dangerous thing in baseball though

build through the farm and fill holes with the money they have

having all of these guys up pre arbitration years should be deadly (if they pan out)

theo set the blueprint

At least heyward got rid of that weird hitching thing before he swung

I hope duke bounces back next year then has a strong '18 then hopefully opts out ,jimenez and happ will be ready to take over the corner outfield spots by then.

pittsburgh have two top 10 prospects per mlb.com (glasnow and meadows) #20 (bell) and 2 others in the top 100

i want all that lol

if bregman really isnt an option then the pirates are well ahead of what houston can offer even if glasnow is their own cant touch prospect

the red sox really need to go all in and get quintana too

that would be the best pitching staff since the 98 braves

benintendi and devers

and go from there

lets do it again dombrowski

with the cubs mega success everybody thinks that every prospect is going to be the next big thing

but the odds are that all prospects working out is slim to none

thats why volume is important

white sox need to stack waves of these guys on top of each other so when carson fulmer fails as a starter and needs to move to the pen theres a legitimate prospect behind him instead of scott carroll -- i want the white sox to have prospects bursting at the seams -- they need to have so many prospects that they have to buy additional minor league teams just to fill them out

the cubs obviously have liked him for a while

the only downside is that the cubs cant promise him a rotation spot once hes healthy like some rebuilding teams would be able

playing for one of the best run organization in sports with a chance to be a starter in a potential dynasty could outweigh that downside though

Yea levine said the cubs been the most aggressive team pursuing ross.Heyman said 20 teams interested

Someone plugged said they tryin to sign him to a 2 year deal, showed him the new rehab facility at wrigley(where schwarber rehabbed all season) and how bosio could change some mechanics to make him better like he did with arrietta.Ross is better than hammell and could put montgomery back in the pen if he's on point.Cubs defense will make him look better too hope they can sign him

good point

thats probably something hes thinking about too

the combination of russell and baez up the middle is something that can further his productiveness

looks like hes just what the cubs are looking for another reclamation project

cubs can afford to take a risk on him and if hes as good or even mostly as good as he used to be he becomes a huge asset to the team

apparently the ask for dozier from the twins is de leon +

theyve settled on de leon but they cant agree on what the + should be

the other team that might be interested are the giants

twins trying to start a bidding war
