Ian desmond came up, last year he signed wit the rangers in like february on a 1 year deal he had no market and had to play of

he just got 70 mil and up to 83 mil wit the club option.Now the rockies can trade gonzalez or blackmon + the rangers get the 11th pick, now they can go after encarncion and give up their pick cuz the one they got for desmond is higher

everyone else behind colorado in the draft order moves up a spot now

the money is probably reasonable but forfeiting that #11 pick is too much

That's every fan base they always either over hype what they got while underselling what they gave up.I read so many comments about how the yankees fleeced the cubs for chapman

Torres legit but them other prospects/players suck and torres is blocked by russell and baez who have actually performed in the big leagues, it's not like the cubs don't have 2 shortstops on the roster who are 23 & 24 next season one an all star tied for most defensive runs saved in baseball who had 6 rbi's in a world series game.The other was nlcs co mvp and unofficial nlds mvp and arguably the best defensive infielder in mlb.The cubs could spare giving up torres

and the cubs won the world series

white sox been in this hellish purgatory for too long

a major change of direction was NEEDED and i couldnt be happier

i havent been this excited about the white sox since the blackout game in 08

when the cubs moved torres in the chapman deal that was the clearest signal that russell and baez are going to be their middle infielders for the next 10 years -- that defense up the middle between russell and javy makes the starting staff so much more deadly

thats why assuming the nats get eaton and play him in cf i really dont love their defense up the middle (or other places)

whether it was cutch or eaton the nationals seem determined to make a plus corner OF into an average CF

but yeah the fact that the best case scenario for soler occurred in 2016 when kyle went down yet he still couldnt capitilize makes it easier -- he was the odd man out on the team -- if you can get someone good from another team -- fine -- he would have never got enough AB's on this team to live up to his potential

basically it all comes down to trust

if you dont trust this cubs front office then there may never exist a professional sports front office that you will trust

Hahn doing good and you still got frazier,robertson(will be more valuable after chapman and jansen sign) cabrera and quintana.I'd keep quintana for now cuz I don't think anybody will give up that supreme haul

Like I've said many times before I'm not doubting NOTHIN theo epstein does.Davis has a 1.17 era and allowed 3 hr's over the last 3 seasons he's walked 59 batters and struck out 259 the cubs just got an elite closer who can groom edwards jr to take over the role like wetteland and rivera

nationals clearly weren't that high on giolito cuz his name in every trade rumor attached to the nationals I coulda swore the yankees asked for giolito for miller last summer and were rebuffed.
