Theo said last night that he been facing live pitching on the low from cubs pitchers I think he let that slip out

from joe presser before the game i heard he said schwarber has been hitting in simulated conditions and hit 'well' but wouldnt quantify his availability as more than a 'chance'

but he said that before game 6

reading between the lines theyre not sending schwarber to arizona for a haircut

they want him to play fall and winter ball yet hes been with the team through the postseason

you can be damn certain if they are sending him down to get live ABs yesterday and monday its because they would really like to have him on the roster

i can only imagine how crazy it would be if he gets a meaningful hit in the world series

just having the guy on the active roster would be an emotional boost (as if theyd need one)

Schwarber been taking batting practice since tuesday and played in the afl last night he went 0-2 with a walk.Theo said they will evaluate him from a medical standpoint and baseball readiness standpoint today and tomorrow,but I don't think they would send him to az and have him miss out on one of the biggest days in modern cubs history to not play in the world series.So we'll see in the next 48 hours if he's ready let him hit,I think it would be dope and if his timing is on that's a dangerous bat to add

the cubs were going against clayton kershaw to reach their first world series in 71 years and kyle schwarber completely stole the spotlight before the game

calling this spring training for schwarber isnt even fair because if a guy is healthy hes been swinging/working out before ST

im not even saying he cant or shouldnt but i honestly cant think of a recent precedent for this scenario

its really something

i hope we see it

On paper this should be a good match up indians steal the most bases,are an aggressive running team(1st to 3rd,stretching singles into doubles,steals etc),have a good ob%,avg but not a lot of power have a strong bullp[en and have good starting picthing in the playoffs they shut down the red sox and blue jays.Cubs have the best defense in the league,best picthing and a top 5 offense.

So it's gonna come down to if the cubs pitching & defense can stop the indians and can the indians pitching shut down the cubs like they did the red sox and blue jays.

Sounds like schwarber playing in the world series(if there are no setbacks today).He's hitting dh in another afl game today then flying to cleveland.

The thing is contreras should probably dh in the games he isn't catching but the indians have a lot of righties and besides miller I can't think of any lefty pitchers they have.The cubs could use another power bat from the left side so I see why they would do it

game 4 vs the giants he said romos sinker and slider were too low and zobrist was waiting for one above the knees to hit and a pitch or 2 later that's exactly what happened and zobrist hit the double

I'm goin wit cubs in 6.The cubs defense specifically the base running defense will be tested but we got baez the tag god + contreras who needs to be starting any non lester starts at C.I think the indians will run on lester tonight like steal every chance they get

cleveland vs chicago in the world series

2 long droughts

terry francona/theo epstein

2 key figures in reversing the 'curse' in boston and 2 unquestionable hall of famers

and 2 teams that made deadline deals with the yankees that have been validated

the totality of clevelands pitching staff is very good but like the 2007 rockies or 2014 royals their starting pitching is average -- they have a bonafide ace in corey kluber but after that theyre relying on the likes of trevor bauer, josh tomlin and ryan merritt -- if those guys can get through 5 innings relatively unscathed then they turn it over to a loaded bullpen led by andrew miller but i cant say i trust bauer, tomlin or merritt to handle the cubs bats

if salazar can get healthy they have a better chance but the biggest problem facing them is that the cubs ALSO have great pitching -- the indians have been hitting poorly against toronto pitching (hitting .208 as a team in the postseason) so they are going to be facing a big uphill battle against lester, hendricks, arrieta, and that bullpen

i wanna say cubs in 5 but i dont know what the hell the indians are doing in the world series to begin with

i'll give them 1 more win out of respect for the work theyve put in

it very well might be something going on over there

we will see
