rangers called up former No. 1 pick matt bush the other day (12 years in the making) he worked a clean inning against donaldson/bautista/encarnacion -- i forgotten all about him -- he was realesed from prison last october having served just a little over 3 years for running over an old man while drunk and leaving the scene -- he has had legal troubles at some point with every mlb team that he has been with

In the incident, Bush hit 72-year-old motorcyclist Tony Tufano...running over his head as he fled the scene. Bush was arrested in North Port, three miles down the road from the accident. He was on the road after getting kicked out of a nearby strip club for trying to climb on the stage. When he was arrested, Bush had a blood alcohol content of .18, more than double the legal limit in Florida.

The following Sunday, Rays general manager Andrew Friedman announced that Bush would never play for the Rays organization again.

usually when guys have had to take the long road to the big leagues and/or fight personal demons i root for them but this guy was a real asshole so i dont know

but

he did sign franco and drafted nola along with jp crawford and depending on who you want to believe he may have also put in the work on the names they could get in the hamels trade

they got a haul for him

who would have thought though that on may 15 the mets would be in 3rd place in their division behind the phillies
