strop came in and shit all over everything

cant trust anyone but rodon at this point

and warren

grimm be lookin shaky, ramirez has never been the same after the shoulder injury, richards sucks, wood iiight, strop usually consistent but he'll give up that costly 2-3 run hr or double.Cubs need more bullpen pitchers who can miss bats call up edwards later in the season and get a lefty then I'll be good

7 years 200+ mil for a 32 year old pitcher? FOH If he was 26-28 cool. This is why acquiring that young ace is imperative between now and december '17

Sonny Gray,Salazar from the indians,Jose Fernandez

Gray is the most realistic option cuz he's arbitration eligible this winter,he's gonna get expensive for oakland I expect him to be traded this winter or '17 trade deadline the other are 2 pipe dreams.I'll be pissed if theo gives arrieta 7 years 200 something million I have no problem wit jake helping the cubs win a world series or 2 then walking. The cubs have some solid pitchers but they're about 3 years away

Soler been strugglin this season he a better hitter than this.No way is the dude who was tearing it up in the playoffs this bad, there's people saying send him to the minors

1st game was winnable strop blew it and gave up a 3 run hr.2nd game padres pitched good but so did lackey, the cubs couldn't get a run.Jayson stark said only the 1929 A's went longer than this without losing back to back games just hate losing series to the rockies, and padres who both suck

for someone who says hes not thinking about fa he sure is talking a lot about it lol i would be fine with running him into the ground for the next two years and then parting ways with the way hes coming off in his comments if i was a cubs fan

i would still be hoping to meet at 5-6 years in the 30-35 million range though (maybe even more if hes willing to budge from 7 years)

he will be 32 by opening day 2018 but hes also a low mileage arm and will probably remain an elite guy for at least another 3-4 years after this -- id take a couple of years where the contract looks ugly to increase the window for winning championships by a several years

Harper got suspended a game for saying fuck you to the ump

i fuck with bryce

but what i dont like is how the narrative around him is hes trying to make baseball fun again but when puig was doing all of those things he was disrespectful and a disgrace

but we know why that is so whatever

white sox traded for a guy who walked 5 batters in one inning against them last week

lmao

reminds me of the the white sox destroying hector noesi for 7 runs in an inning to only claim him off waivers after he got cut after the game

another project for coop i guess

I got mad love for arrieta but if he continues to pitch like an ace & the cubs win a world series he can go.I wouldn't feel comfortable giving two 30+ pitchers 25 mil a year for 6-7 years that's how you end up like the yankees.Especially when these young cubs will be arbitration eligible or extended in a few years.I'd offer 4 years with a team/vesting option for a 5th year at 25-27 mil a year if that aint enough Peace.I know the cubs gonna get that tv deal in the next 3 years so they can spend more and I still wouldn't give him 7 years.

thats true

i forgot about lester

with the new tv deal youd think signing arrieta to a huge contract wouldnt prevent the cubs from signing other players like it would in sports with a hard cap but the yankees have been hamstrung the last two years by the cap and the dodgers who have outspent the yankees in recent years have also shown signs of constraint when they got outbid for grienke and with pitching always at a premium some dumbass team trying to make a splash would throw too much stupid money at arrieta

The Red Sox can't keep it up with their lack of pitching talent, eventually they will come back down to earth. Overachieving ass mothafuckas.

Phillies and Braves those are 2 teams that will be problems in about 2-3 years. Both have some very good young pitching (braves have high upside position players too) phillies are overachieving this year cuz of their pitching
