Didn't expect the Yankees to win cuz they weak on the road.Morton pitched pretty good then McCullers shut the door

Don't see the dodgers losing they grind ab's,draw mad walks , have the best starting & bullpen pitching Astros struggled vs flabathia and Tanaka dodgers will be champions imo

good season yankees

theyll be back

not their time yet

were gonna see a ton of

cubs/dodgers/astros/yankees contending in the next 4-5 years

4 teams with young proven cores

astros took out the 3rd highest payroll team in baseball

then the 2nd highest

now they get the highest payroll team in baseball

Cubs might try to acquire christian yelich. They were interested at the trade deadline

I think stanton & yelich will get traded this off season.Always been a yelich fan he'd be a perfect fit but I don't know how the cubs can acquire him they don't really have nothin after the quintana & wilson heists unless it's a salary dump type trade.I'd give up happ or almora or both and a prospect.

nick cafardo of the boston globe wrote two weeks ago he thinks the cubs are a team to look at for stanton this offseason and that its more the marlins picking the cubs than the cubs looking at stanton

evidently the marlins have a lot of cub players on their radar

he didnt say who those players are

but

happ

almora

schwarber

etc

should all be on the table for pieces this offseason

cubs need to make changes to the offense (since theyre not gonna fire the hitting coach i guess)

I agree but I'd take yelich(team friendly contract) over stanton cuz that leaves dough to fill other holes + yelich a better fit he can hit lead off too.Stanton got way too much dough left on that contract and with heywards albatross contract can't see how that happens realistically.

theo told almora in the exit meeting that he cant promise an everyday role in 2018

could be a traded candidate

happ too

i think theo would move

happ/almora first

schwarber second

and russell/baez if blown away

bryant

rizzo

contreras

are untouchable

That would suck. He's on a team-friendly deal but we're trying to shed 50mill off the payroll. Stanton's obviously going.

Edit: I see Tommy said the same thing about him having a cheap contract lol

According to a source, the Cubs are being told that Epstein is targeting position players from Boston and Miami, with budding outfielder Andrew Benintendi sitting atop the team’s wishlistthe Cubs are making it clear that they are willing to part with some MLB-talent to make a deal like this happen.[/b]A source explained that while the scouts are not saying who the Cubs would be willing to part with, they did drop a subtle hint that Kyle Schwarber may not be the untouchable piece he was regarded as a year ago. Players like Addison Russell, Javier Baez, Albert Almora Jr, and even rookie Ian Happ could also be considered in deals this offseason. This does not mean the Cubs are trying to trade any of those players, just that the Cubs would be more willing to move one of those pieces if it nets them a Andrew Benintendi caliber player.

Another name mentioned was Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich, who the Cubs have checked in a few times this past season while Miami owners attempted to sell the team. The Cubs would also have an interest in Giancarlo Stanton, but with his massive contract and with players like Jason Heyward owed close to 150 mil over the next six years, that seems impossible.

cubs need to do something to acquire a top of the order bat that can hit around .300 to help even out the free swingers they have on this roster

how and who that may be i dont know but i dont think they can just stick with the status quo with the every day lineup and expect the offensive problems to just go away

cubs have 2 of the 5 lowest batting averages in mlb history among teams that have played at least 8 postseason games

Schwarber and almora for benetendi? That a reasonable trade in your opinion?

Red Sox need a left handed power hitter since ortiz retired.Schwarber will eat wit that short rf wall at fenway they also get a cf.

Almora & happ for yelich.I'd throw in caratini too if necessary

Keep baez and russell

I agree they do need more contact hitters who draw walks the whole dodgers line up was doin that

you gonna become a full time cubs fan if they get benitendi lol.I'd take either player, I always liked both

heres the way i see it

boston wouldnt include benny in the chris sale trade

so i dont see why they would trade him now other than for bryant or rizzo

i havent heard or read anything that boston soured on dude so trading him makes no sense to me

and i find it very hard to believe that a national league gm would trade for schwarber (unless youre giving him away and thats just stupid) — his value probably took a pretty big hit this year but you know theo still loves him — so the cubs valuation of him is likely way out of wack with the industry evaluation of him RIGHT NOW -- theyre probably better off keeping shcwarber and trying to get him going next season unless a team wants to pay 80 cents of the dollar and up for him — i just imagine his value is at 50 cent of the dollar or lower right now — i could be wrong but it just feels that way

yelich is the most realistic get of the two and even then i would think hes unrealistic if i hadnt see the report from cafardo saying the cubs have a lot of players the marlins would love to have

theyd probably want something centered around baez so they can market him to the people of miami (hes not cuban but he plays the part)
