Joe maddon had no business bringing in lackey who does nothin but gives up hr's in over davis.

lackey never pitched back to back in his career

he also fucked up by not suicide squeezing baez home when he drew a walk(which he rarely does) stole 2nd,and got to 3rd on a wild pitch with 1 out, the team has been struggling offensively you have to somehow get that run home.Cubs execution that inning was awful

only positive was the bullpen maintained. The dodgers have he best starting & bullpen pitching in the league the cubs haven't hit good pitching all season

Totally agree with everything especially the bolded. I thought it was a wrap for LA. Huge momentum shift imo.

Pedro was saying that Davis didn't look right in that Nats game. You agree?

I thought it was just arm fatigue cuz he left several pitches up and walked 3 hitters

Davis blew a save vs the brewers and said afterwards he wasn't use to the 5-6 out save

Just thought his arm was weary from usage and being in a super high leverage situation

Theo got work to do this winter.Get rid of everybody in the pen except strop, edwards and maybe davis

Yankees about to trade betances acquire him, sign holland, sign kinzler, maples should be ready next year too

I want a POWA pen,no more grimm, rondon, montgomery weak ass noodle arm.Depends what happens with alzolay in the afl and winter ball but he's either a starter or will be in the pen next year maybe start him off in the pen to get his feet wet.

Cubs winnin another ring in '18 this aint the year

great pitching beats great hitting

its not just the cubs who struggle hitting good pitching but its their type of at bats that just has to piss you off

like they never seen a pitch before

most teams have a collective hitting approach for a pitcher

what pitches to jump on

whether to be aggressive or work the counts etc

i see a lineup that doesnt have a game plan and its leading to some very bad ABs

1st time through the lineup guys are taking fastballs for strikes

2nd-4th times through guys are swinging at balls because they are pressing

yankees are squandering some greeat pitching due to their non existent hitting

when you hold a team like the astros to 2 runs and in 2 games no less

that is a huge opportunity

i would seriously consider benching judge in game 3 and put in ellsbury or someone else

judge is just all messed up and he is beyond forcing the issue right now

maybe even place him in the DH spot instead

dude is in the same slump that arod had in the 2007 playoffs

Yea like contreras and almoras ab's vs jansen.

Contreras was lookin like baez that was one of the worst ab's I've ever seen by him then almora stands in the on deck circle watching that fool swing at chin high cutters and does the exact same thing.

Heyward guaranteed for a weak contact pop up/ground out along with bryant and his 13 k's and counting. They all look bad which is why I didn't understand manufacturing a way for baez to get home.Maddon been real questionable in the postseason

something needs to be fixed but i just dont see offensively where to fix it

cubs dont have any openings unless they trade a schwarber and happ/baez/russell for a corner outfielder worth a damn

its the big names that have been the most disappointing and obviously getting rid of them isnt the solution

so its gotta be john mallee

We wouldn’t be in this position if the fucking bats can wake up. You give the opposing team 1 run all the way to the 9th inning , they did the fucking job. These motherfuckers just can’t hit shit.

You going against a team that collectively has the lowest era in the league. That might have something to do wit the bats not being woke

There seems to be a building consensus that baseball will soon be headed to a 32-team configuration. It will lead to major realignment and adjustments in schedule, which will allow MLB to address the growing concerns of the union about travel demands and off days.

One proposal would be to geographically restructure into four divisions, which would create a major reduction in travel, particularly for teams on the East Coast and West Coast, and add to the natural rivalries by not just having them as interleague attractions, but rather a part of the regular divisional battles.

Consider four eight-team divisions with the addition of teams in Portland and Montreal:

East: Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Miami, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Washington.

North: Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, Montreal, both New York franchises and Toronto.

Midwest: Both Chicago franchises, Colorado, Houston, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Texas.

West: Anaheim, Arizona, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

this wouldld be interesting

12 cubs vs white sox games and theyd actually be real rivals but i think its more likely they go 8 divisions of 4 but we'll see what happens

that proposed realignment would also likely mean the end of pitchers hitting all around

it would also have a longer postseason

Fan interest could be maintained by allowing for the four first-place teams in each division to advance to the postseason, and having play-in games against the eight remaining teams with the best records.

The winners of the four wild card games would advance to the Division Series, which would feature a wild card team against each division champion.

Those four winners would advance to the Championship Series, and the winners of that round would meet in the World Series.

They'd give Montreal another shot? I remember watching old games when the braves would play up there, and that stadium would always be damn near empty (back when V Guerrero was hitting pitches damn near off the ground out of the park). I'm for expansion and realignment of the divisions, and I'd hope they'd get rid of pitchers hitting

I was hoping they'd give Charlotte a chance at a team, but I don't think it's feasible now with that new minor league park in the heart of the city. Would be tough, but I'd drop the Braves for the home team.
