im sure the cubs got some strong offers for soler in the offseason but right now they would not get much in return without adding some solid prospects to a deal (i think)

a deal built around soler, vogelbach and/or torres for miller or chapman would be something id have no problem with



soler potential is high but he has not been able to stay healthy and he has not been able to produce consistently at the big league level and cubs are already short on open positions in the corner OF especially if contreras and baez keep forcing maddons hand as they have done so far this year

For chapman?!? hell no not without an extension.That's a lot to give up for miller too I don't know that's more like a package for a younger cost controlled starting pitcher imo.Soler is injury prone he's been hurt every year he's been playin since the minors but I remember how he was locked in during that cardinals series in the playoffs.But it is crowded out there now cuz of contreras playin lf when he doesnt catch and zobrist done hit a wall he needs to rest more he 35 let baez play more 2nd.

i guess im just down on soler (probably too much)

i just dont want to get caught up with letting a few well timed majestic bombs cloud my view of him

all i see is

inconsistent/streaky hitting

poor fielding

constant injuries

and he isnt positionally flexible either which is important to this regime and current manager

its gonna be interesting to see what klnd of package the yankees get for them because a lot of the top teams all need the same bullpen help

might just be best to stay out of that

The mets lost monday doggie.These front runnin mets fans only show up when they beat the cubs.They're nowhere to be found when the nationals be sonnin them or when they got swept by the braves :/

What does us losing on Monday have to do with if we won today it woulda been 3 series in a row dumbass, I wasn't talking about games.. But we lost so it don't matter now. Hopefully we can get healthy enough to get in the wild card playoff. Last years series old news as you see the cubs right back in the contenders circle mets aren't.Thought you was talkin bout games my bad good luck makin the playoffs.

Most likely it should come down to Mets vs Dodgers for the NL wild card but it's a long injury filled season so who knows

I trust theo and co on this and they still saved all their bullets for another trade if necessary.Lost vogelbomb tho I'm sad he never made it to the cubs but he's ready for the bigs and there's no where for him to play.I'm gonna be checkin for how he does.

Yea I hear you on soler I think he'll probably get traded this winter but I think his upside as a hitter is too good to give up on.I really hope the nl gets the dh next season for soler and schwarber to split time at.

I think they'll be in it but there's a line that will be drawn,I got this gut feelin the nationals gonna get chapman.I honestly think the cubs are being constantly mentioned interested in miller and chapman so other teams can up the ante.
